Families of children with brain cancer are backing an appeal to raise nearly £3m to pay for a new MRI scanner for the Queen's Medical Centre in Nottingham.

The intra-operative i-MRI scanner can be used during operations, reducing the need for further scans and operations.

Five-year-old Mia Morgan had life-saving surgery for a brain tumour at the QMC two years ago.

Her mother Melissa said: "It'll make everything even more amazing than they already are in Nottingham.

"It'll help children in the future. If they've not quite got all the tumour, they may be able to go back in there and then to take away what they can so it saves the child going back to sleep."
