    Derby's Rolls-Royce base is expected to be hit hard by major job cuts announced this morning.

    The engineering firm said it's axing 4,600 jobs in a restructuring programme, which will see middle managers and back-office staff take the brunt.

    The engineering firm is refocusing its business on civil aerospace, defence and power systems, it's said.

    About a third of the job cuts are expected to happen by the end of this year.
