  1. Call for park CCTV after 'multiple attacks'published at 11:28 Greenwich Mean Time 25 February 2019

    Amy Woodfield
    BBC News

Residents in Sandiacre have come together to support a campaign for CCTV to be installed near a local park to help tackle anti-social behaviour.

The petition was started by 16-year-old Holly Wilds after "multiple attacks in the area".

She said: "It's starting to make us fear going outside. I don't feel safe going to the bus stop and I'm sure a lot of other people don't either."

    CCTV

Jo Webb's 19-year-old son was attacked in Springfield Park last week.

She said he was surrounded by about 14 lads and then kicked and punched in a "random attack". She said she's not slept properly since the attack and she's stopped all her children from going to the area.

Jo said: "It's frustrating as parents because it feels like nothing is being done and there's been more attacks since."

    Quote Message

Anti-social behaviour is something we take very seriously as a force. We work hard to investigate and deter those responsible for this type of behaviour however, we can only do this with the help of the local community. In order to understand the full extent of the problem all instances of anti-social behaviour should be reported to us using the non-emergency 101 number."

    David Pittam
    BBC News Online

Logging in on Monday morning of course means trawling through hundreds of e-mails - but today one stood out a little bit more than the rest.

That's because new starter Alan Partridge, who is returning to the corporation for the first time in two decades today, felt he needed to "clear the air" - and he did it by emailing everyone who works here to say so.

He wasn't found until the next day when his sister visited him and is still in hospital receiving treatment.

It is believed three men were involved in the burglary. They were all wearing masks and dressed in black.

  6. Amber Peat: Father vows to continue 'personal fight'published at 10:09 Greenwich Mean Time 25 February 2019

    BBC News

The dad of a 13-year-old girl who was found hanged said she was "let down considerably" by authorities.

Adrian Cook, who had not seen his daughter Amber Peat since 2013 and only found out she had gone missing through Facebook, believes the people who were supposed to be looking after his daughter need to be held to account.

    Amber Peat

Amber left the Mansfield home she shared with her mother and stepfather after a row. Her body was found three days later, on 2 June 2015.

Assistant coroner Laurinda Bower said agencies missed 11 opportunities to prevent Amber's death but also said Amber's mother and stepfather, Kelly and Daniel Peat, had given "very little, if any, consideration" to her welfare.

She added the fact Amber saw Mr Cook only twice after her parents separated on Christmas Eve 2012 "would, no doubt, have had an emotional impact on Amber and a destabilising effect on her life".

Mr Cook said the Peat family would often move around without him knowing and he was not told when his daughter's surname was changed.

  7. 'Puel had to go - but with a heavy heart'published at 09:59 Greenwich Mean Time 25 February 2019

    Phil McNulty
    BBC Sport chief football writer

Leicester City's hierarchy - led by Aiyawatt "Top" Srivaddhanaprabha - will have taken the decision to sack manager Claude Puel with heavy hearts.

The 57-year-old Frenchman was a dignified figure in the aftermath of the helicopter crash at The King Power Stadium in October in which Foxes' owner Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha and four others died.

    Claude PuelImage source, AFP

There would have been no huge appetite to dismiss Puel this season but in the end reality dictated as bad results, poor performances, an increasingly toxic atmosphere around the club and a breakdown in his relationship with Jamie Vardy meant Puel had to go.

So how has it gone wrong for Puel after his second Premier League sacking following his single season at Southampton? And could Brendan Rodgers or Rafael Benitez be the men to revive the Foxes' fortunes?

Rodgers has rebuilt his reputation in Scotland after his ultimate failings at Liverpool and is certainly not short of personality or charisma.

  8. Puel sacking: 'He almost worked against the players'published at 09:50 Greenwich Mean Time 25 February 2019

    BBC Radio 5 live

A former Leicester City player has described Claude Puel, who was sacked as the club's manager yesterday, as "hard work".

Puel's departure followed a 4-1 home defeat to Crystal Palace.

Robert Huth said he almost worked against the players who wanted to play "high energy football".
