    Concerns are growing for a Derbyshire climber, who is missing on one of the world's highest mountains with his Italian colleague.

    Nothing has been heard from Tom Ballard and Daniele Nardi since Sunday. The pair are attempting to reach the summit of Nanga Parbat in Pakistan, the world's ninth highest peak.

    The last contact from the pair was on Sunday, from an altitude of around 6,300m. Weather was poor in the area at the time.

    Pakistani authorities hope to launch a helicopter search operation, although that has been slowed by the current tensions between Pakistan and India.

    Nanga Parbat is notoriously difficult to climb but Tom Ballard is a highly experienced climber.

    In 2015 he became the first person ever to solo climb all six major north faces of the Alps in one winter.

    He is the son of Alison Hargreaves, who died in 1995 while descending from the summit of K2, the world's second highest mountain - also in Pakistan.

    The club is currently based at Leicester Grammar School in Great Glen but with the help of the city council it's going to move to a new home at St Margaret’s Pastures sports centre.

    The council has said the move will support the development of the game in the city – attracting new players from all backgrounds and of all ages.

    Derby North MP Chris Williamson has issued a statement apologising for his latest remarks on anti-Semitism in the Labour party.

    The 62-year-old has been strongly criticised by party colleagues after telling a Momentum meeting in Sheffield that Labour had been "too apologetic" in the face of criticism and was being wrongly "demonised as a racist, bigoted party".

    In a tweeted statement, external, he said: "I deeply regret, and apologise for, my recent choice of words when speaking about how the Labour Party has responded to the ongoing fight against anti-Semitism inside of our party.

    "I was trying to stress how much the party has done to tackle anti-Semitism."

    Deputy Labour leader Tom Watson has said Williamson should have the whip withdrawn after bringing the party into disrepute.

    London Mayor Sadiq Khan also said there were grounds for disciplinary action.

    Glow in the dark posters are being put up in South Derbyshire to try to reduce the number of people who fail to clean up after their dog.

    The district council is working with Keep Britain Tidy on the campaign.

    The posters are designed to remind people to clean up after their dogs - and provide a bit of light in dark places where mess is often ignored.

    Labour's deputy leader is calling for the Derby North MP to be suspended from the party.

    Tom Watson said Chris Williamson brought Labour into disrepute and should have the whip withdrawn.

    It follows comments made at a meeting in Sheffield last week where he said the party had been "too apologetic" over anti-Semitism.

    Poor Monty - the family cat was shot with an air rifle in Burbage.

    His owner, said the four-year-old cat returned home holding his front paw up.

    When Heather Parsons looked closer she could see a puncture wound in his leg and a pellet.

    She said: “It was just so shocking to find out he had been shot in what we think was a deliberate attack.

    “It does worry me that other pets in the area could be at risk as well as wildlife. Other animals may have been shot which we don’t know about."

    Luckily a vet was able to remove the pellet and Monty is at home recovering from his ordeal.

    The RSPCA has called it a "deliberate and callous attack" and is warning all pet owners in the Hinckley area.

    The road will be closed eastbound (towards Nottingham) from 20:00 between the Pentagon Island and Raynesway.

    Traffic will be diverted along Nottingham and Derby Road in Chaddesden. Derby City Council has said the road will fully re-open no later than 06:00 tomorrow.

    A new report claims that Leicester is seeing a faster growth in house prices than any other city in the UK.

    Figures compiled by the online property company Zoopla show that growth slowed in 13 of the 20 listed locations but Leicester still registered a 6% increase last year.

    That compares to 4.6% in Nottingham. Derby has not been included in the index.

    Italia Rouse, 13, and Molly Kettle, 12, were reported missing from Worksop but police believe they may travel to Nottingham or Blackpool.

    Italia is described as medium build, 5ft 8ins tall, with long copper/red straight hair. She was last seen wearing a long green quilted coat, black leggings, a light grey top and black and white trainers.

    A culture of bullying, fire risks at the Bradgate Unit, and children with autism waiting up to two years for treatment are just some of the issues that Leicestershire's mental health services need to address, according to a watchdog report.

    It comes after inspectors from the Care Quality Commission (CQC) visited five services run by Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust in November and December last year, and rated it as "requires improvement".

    Staff have however been praised for their care, which was the only area of the service rated good.

    Dr Peter Miller, chief executive of the Local Partnership Trust, who announced his retirement earlier this month, apologised and said: "The CQC report shows that we still have work to do to get the fundamentals right, first time, every time, and that we need to increase the pace of improvement."

    Environmental campaigners have published a list of what they say are the 10 most polluted roads in the East Midlands

    According to Friends of the Earth, the Kingsway stretch of the A38 in Derby has the highest levels of nitrogen dioxide in the region.

    Richard Dyer, from the organisation, said: "We need to vastly improve public transport and facilities for walking and cycling because that's a real alternative for shorter journeys."

    The Derby North MP Chris Williamson has been filmed saying the Labour party has been "too apologetic" over anti-Semitism.

    The footage, which shows the Labour MP - a close ally of Jeremy Corbyn - speaking at an event in Sheffield is understood to have been recorded last week after eight Labour MPs quit the party over Brexit and anti-Semitism.
