    Some tips across the East Midlands will reopen on Monday.

    Recycling centres in Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire and Derbyshire have been shut for weeks because of the coronavirus outbreak.

    But some are now reopening, with various rules imposed to enforce social distancing.

    For example, Leicestershire County Council has launched an online booking system for the seven sites that will reopen – Barwell, Lount, Market Harborough, Melton Mowbray, Mountsorrel, Oadby and Whetstone.

    In Nottinghamshire, external there will be a one-in-one-out policy when it reopens the Beeston, Bilsthorpe, Calverton, Hucknall, Newark and Worksop centres.

    All nine of Derbyshire's centres, external will reopen on Monday but what day you can visit depends on whether you have an odd or an even number plate.

    A man has been charged after a car was broken into while the owner was shopping after a shift working in hospital.

    The healthcare assistant had gone into a Co-Op on Woodborough Road in Mapperley last month after finishing her shift at the Queen's Medical Centre in Nottingham.

    While inside, someone smashed her car window with a brick and stole three bags.

    Yesterday police arrested and charged a 31-year-old from Mapperley with theft from a vehicle.

    He was released on conditional bail and is due to appear before Nottingham Magistrates' Court on 2 July.

    A man has been arrested after cash machines were raided across Nottinghamshire.

    A Lloyds TSB machine, on Portland Square in Sutton-in-Ashfield, and a Natwest Bank, on Church Street in Mansfield, were targeted between December 2019 and March 2020.

    A 28-year-old was arrested in connection with a number of thefts and criminal damages.

    Nottinghamshire Police said the secure machines were targeted overnight with tools.

    Det Sgt David Prest said it has taken the force "many months to track down a man in connection with these incidents".

    He remains in police custody.

    Eight men have been arrested after police raided a site in Leicestershire earlier today.

    Firearms officers, a drone and a helicopter were used to assist in the arrests at about 05:00 on Blaby Road, in Enderby.

    Leicestershire Police said there was "no threat to public safety".

    The men, aged between 23 and 53, all from Leicester, were all arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit violent disorder in April in Aston Flamville, in Hinckley.

    They have been also been held on suspicion of conspiracy to commit burglary and conspiracy to commit arson relating to offences committed in Essex last month.

    All remain in custody.

    A boy has been arrested after a teenager who tried to sell a belt on Snapchat was allegedly threatened at knifepoint and robbed.

    Nottinghamshire Police said it happened in the B&Q car park in Eastwood last night when the victim met a 15-year-old boy after offering the belt for sale.

    The victim handed over the belt, but when they asked for money, the boy "pulled out a knife and rode off".

    The boy was later located and detained on suspicion of robbery. He remains in custody.

    Earlier in the week Health Secretary Matt Hancock said it is unlikely anyone is going to be able to go abroad on holiday this summer while the world deals with the coronavirus pandemic, and many in the travel industry are worried about the potential impact.

    Karen Smart, managing director for East Midlands Airport, said they're working on new safety measures - including asking staff and passengers to wear masks and taking temperature checks of people coming in - to make sure they're "well prepared" for when borders reopen and tourists can return.

    With no passenger flights going through the hub, she said it's "incredibly quiet" at the moment, and while Irish airline Ryanair said it plans to reintroduce 40% of flights by July, she said it's "too early to say" when normal business might return, and advised people to follow advice from the government and their airlines.

    Two people have been arrested after police pursuing a vehicle uncovered "significant amounts" of drugs.

    Nottinghamshire Police said officers had been following a car driven by a man "suspected to be involved in drug supply offences" along Westmoore Close on Wednesday.

    After witnessing a suspected drug deal they tried to stop the vehicle, which then sped off before crashing into the central reservation along Porchester Road.

    The driver then fled the car but was arrested shortly afterwards - police added a search of the vehicle uncovered Class A drugs.

    The 26-year-old driver was held on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class A drugs and dangerous driving, and after following up concerns about an address linked to the man, a 25-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply a Class B drug.

    A theatre company that has been operating in Derby for 30 years says it is close to closure.

    Elli Mackenzie, from Friar Gate Studios-based Oddsocks, said they attempted to get an arts grant for the first time recently but were refused.

    Theatres around the country have warned the loss of live audiences under lockdown could make it difficult for companies to come back from coronavirus.

    A father and son have been charged after a new psychoactive substance with a value of £60,000 was seized by Border Force at two airports.

    About 102kg (224lbs) of the drug Kratom was found at East Midlands Airport on 6 May along with 52kg (114 lbs) at Edinburgh Airport on 15 April, as part of a joint National Crime Agency and Police Scotland investigation.

    Officers from the Organised Crime Partnership arrested the two men, aged 60 and 38, in Bathgate, West Lothian, on Tuesday.

    Kratom is a controlled substance under the New Psychoactive Substances Act 2016.

    It is traditionally grown in south-east Asia and used as a stimulant with opioid-like properties.

    The men are charged with importation, possession with intent to supply and offering for supply.

    They have both been released and will appear in court at a later date.

    King's Mill Hospital in Nottinghamshire has been given the highest rating available by inspectors from the Care Quality Commission (CQC).

    The centre has been upgraded from "good" to "outstanding", with inspectors rating, external Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust as "good" overall.

    Newark Hospital has also improved, rising from "requires improvement" to "good", according to the commission, which assessed the trust's performance over January and February this year.

    Ted Baker, chief inspector of hospitals for CQC, said all trust staff "should be proud of the care they are providing".

    Center Parcs is to keep all its UK holiday parks closed for another month.

    The Sherwood Forest site was among the five to close in March due to the coronavirus outbreak.

    In March it was confirmed a recent guest and a member of staff at the Nottinghamshire site had tested positive for Covid-19.

    Center Parcs said it is now planning to extend the closure until 11 June.

    A statement on the website said: "This decision continues to support government advice and our priority to keep our staff and guests as safe as possible."

    Two properties have been raided by police after reports of shots being fired in Derbyshire.

    Police said they received numerous calls from the Moorway Lane area of Littleover to reports of a firearms discharge at about 18:00 on Tuesday.
