A teenager has been arrested after a stabbing in Nottingham city centre.
Police were called to Milton Street, next to the Victoria shopping centre, at about 13:15 and found an injured person.
Their condition is currently unknown but police said they were being treated at the scene.
Officers said they arrested a 17-year-old boy within minutes of the attack.
Insp Andrew Wright said: "This will have been a frightening incident for people to witness - in a busy area in broad daylight.
"But officers were swiftly on the scene to make an arrest and officers will remain in the area for some time to provide reassurance."
Milton Street is currently cordoned off and a number of emergency vehicles are at the scene.

A 10-year-old girl wants a pet cat so badly that she has made a digital presentation to her parents.
Olivia, from Beeston, tracked down hypoallergenic cats up for adoption and outlined her favourite ones on a series of slides to show to her dad, who is allergic to cat fur.
Olivia told BBC Radio Nottingham: "I made a Powerpoint for them with pictures of cats, why I wanted one and I put links to websites where you could adopt them.
"They said 'maybe' but they were a bit surprised."
Her dad Scott said: "This is the next level. Years ago your kids would leave notes around the house but now you get a full-on, Apprentice-style pitch.
"I'm allergic to cats, this is the stumbling block, but she's found hypoallergenic ones and she's researched them. Every angle is covered."
He said the final decision on whether Olivia will get her pet has not been made yet but she has been allowed to go a nearby cat cafe.

The number of University of Nottingham students who have tested positive for coronavirus has reached 1,510, the institution has confirmed.
This is up from 425 confirmed cases a week ago.
Just over a third, 523, are residents in university halls, while 677 live in private properties and 310 are based in "purpose-built student accommodation".
As well as the students, 20 staff have also tested positive.
A spokeswoman for the university - which has about 35,000 students, hosts two walk-in test stations on its campuses and runs its own asymptomatic testing programme - said it was working with council leaders and health bosses to help contain the virus.
She said students were encouraged to "stop mixing outside of their households and to stay on campus or in their homes" this weekend and additional staff were brought in to "explain and enforce these new changes".
"Although the majority of our students are doing the right thing, under our student Code of Conduct there are serious consequences for any students who do not obey the rules, including disciplinary action, fines and campus sanctions – in addition to police fines," the spokeswoman said.

A man has been arrested after a stolen car was driven at more than 100mph before crashing, police said.
Nottinghamshire Police spotted the Renault Kadjar in Mansfield Road, Daybrook, in the early hours of Sunday.
The force said the vehicle had been reported stolen from Arnold on Saturday.
The car failed to stop, police said, and sped off towards Nottingham.
After a pursuit, the driver crashed into a pedestrian crossing post in Woodthorpe.
A 27-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of failing to stop for police, dangerous driving, and theft of a motor vehicle.
He did require hospital treatment, but has since been discharged and taken into custody.
Police are looking for two passengers who were in the car but evaded arrest.
Sgt Catherine Edwards said it was "fortunate that nobody was seriously injured in this collision".

Derbyshire Dales District Council has voted to ban badger culling on its land.
Last month the government announced it was extending its culling programme to 11 new areas, including Derbyshire, as part of efforts to eradicate bovine TB.
However, the council voted by 16 votes to nine - with eight abstentions - to not allow badgers to be killed on land it owns.
Culling will still be able to take place in other parts of Derbyshire.
The authority plans to support its stance by adding extra signage to make clear which land it owns.
Hathersage and Eyam councillor Claire Raw, who brought the motion, said vaccination was a more effective way of dealing with bovine TB.
The government has said it is using culling, vaccination and testing to eradicate the disease.
Students who said they were celebrating a series of negative tests were also penalised.
