Police have released a video showing three people officers want to speak to after eight dachshunds were taken from a property near Swadlincote.
Three male and five female miniature wire-haired dachshunds - which police say they pedigree show dogs and worth a "substantial amount of money" - were stolen from Burton Road in Acresford between 23:30 and midnight last Wednesday.
Derbyshire Police said one dog has since been found "safe and well" in Cambridgeshire, with inquiries "ongoing into how it came to be in the area".
Anyone who recognises the trio - who were in the area at the time - is asked to contact the force on 101, external.
Lisa Dean, from a lost and stolen pet volunteer group called Beauty's Legacy, said a member of the public saw one of the dogs by the roadside in the Huntingdon area of Cambridgeshire this morning.
The female miniature dachshund was taken to the vets where her microchip was scanned and the owner was called at about 08:15.
Ms Dean said the owner was "elated but terrified for the welfare of the other dogs".
The dog had lost a quarter of her body weight in the time she had been missing, Ms Dean added.

Three off-road bikers have been fined for travelling from Manchester to a disused quarry in Derbyshire.
Police caught the bikers in Harpur Hill, near Buxton, last night.
In a tweet the officers said: "Remember, we are still in a pandemic! We must stay home, protect the NHS and save lives."
Officers say about 20 people "stormed past them" when they arrived to break up the party.

A public swimming pool in Oakham is expected to remain closed beyond the current lockdown after a condition survey found "major structural improvements" were needed.
The survey at Catmose Sports Centre was carried out by Rutland County Council as part of a review into the future recreation, leisure and wellbeing needs of local residents.
Discussions are now ongoing between those involved in the running of Catmose Swimming Pool.
Councillor Lucy Stephenson, cabinet member for culture and leisure, said: "The level of work required to make the pool structure safe and the estimated cost of that work mean it’s not something that can be undertaken as a quick fix.
"It will need to form part of wider considerations about the long-term future of leisure provision in Rutland.”

A road was closed and trains were disrupted after a lorry got stuck under a railway bridge in Hinckley.
Leicestershire Police said no-one was injured in the crash in Rugby Road, which happened at about 10:30.
The road was closed while the lorry was removed but it has since reopened.
Network Rail said some railway services were disrupted while inspections were carried out, but they resumed again at about 12:45.
The "distressed" barn owl was found dangling by a wing over the River Derwent in Derby.

Three tonnes of bricks, rubble and other waste have been found dumped near the Grantham Canal in Nottinghamshire.
Rushcliffe Borough Council is appealing for information after fly-tipping was found in a car park off the old A46 in Cropwell Bishop on Sunday.
Councillor Rob Inglis said: "I find it utterly deplorable that a small minority of people consider it is acceptable to dump rubbish and waste in our wonderful countryside.
“Offenders show a total disregard to our environment, our residents and to those having to clear it up, especially not knowing what hazards may lie within.
“It either falls upon us all, or just an innocent landowner to foot the bill for each occurrence."

Fines were handed out by a policing team in Leicestershire over the weekend to those caught breaching coronavirus lockdown regulations.
Among those to be fined was a group of 15 boys playing football in Fenny Drayton and three boys, from different households, found sat in a car parked at a cemetery in Desford.
Market Bosworth Police also fined a man for going out while still waiting for the result of his Covid test.
Officers said on their Facebook page, external: "It’s fair to say that none of us on the team joined this organisation to stop lads playing football or to stop family gatherings.
"But for the time being - these are the rules and this is the law."

A police officer has been punched and kicked while attending a report of a party being held in Newark that breached Covid-19 restrictions.
Officers were called to an address in Barnaby Gate at about 22:40 on Sunday.
The officer was assaulted and suffered a thumb injury.
A 37-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of assaulting an emergency worker and remains in police custody.
Two other police officers were also assaulted on Sunday while responding to a separate domestic incident in Hucknall.
Officers were called to a report of a man assaulting a woman on Goodhall Crescent at about 20:20.
One officer was reportedly punched in the face, whilst another injured his finger restraining a man.
A 29-year-old man was arrested and the woman’s injuries have been described by the force as "not life-threatening".
Nottinghamshire Police said all three injured officers are being supported by the force.
Ch Sup Rob Griffin, head of local policing for Nottinghamshire Police, said: "We must make it clear that we will not accept this treatment of our officers and staff. It is simply not part of the job and it shouldn't happen."
An advisory panel has been set up to help transform a 20-acre site in Nottingham city centre.

A man has been charged as part of a county lines drugs trafficking investigation.
Nottinghamshire Police said the charge related to "cuckooing", where a gang takes over a person's home as a base for drug dealing.
On 11 September last year, officers received reports a woman in her 40s had been taken against her will from her home in the Whitehall Court area of Retford.
She was found at Rotherham Central railway station hours later.
A 22-year-old man from Haringey in London has now been charged with kidnap and conspiracy to supply cocaine and heroin.
He will appear at Nottingham Crown Court on 12 March.
Earlier, four other people were arrested and charged with kidnap and drugs offences.
They will appear at the same court on 6 September.

An antique collection belonging to a former Derby hospital worker could fetch £30,000 when it goes under the hammer, an auction firm has said.
Derbyshire-based Hansons Auctioneers said Priscilla Kidman - who died this year aged 97 - left behind enough treasures for 150 lots.
Among the items are a letter from Australia in 1852, centuries-old embroidery, a teapot from 1770, a portrait of a man with a lock of his hair and diamond jewellery.
Charles Hanson, owner of Hansons, said: "The collection captures the art of collecting over 70 years.
"Our valuers have been amazed by the finds during what has been a fascinating cataloguing process.
"Priscilla was a talented, vibrant intellectual with a tremendous eye for artistic beauty and an eclectic taste which encompassed fine antiques and items woven into world history.
"She left a lasting legacy of both beautiful and historical objects."
The collection will go under the hammer on 24 February.

Two East Midlands cities are in the top 20 areas with the highest coronavirus infection rates in England in the week up to 11 February, according to latest figures.
Leicester has the 14th highest rate, at 253.2 per 100,000 people, while Nottingham is 16th - according to Public Health England data - with a rate of 248.4 for the same weekly period.
Newark and Sherwood, Mansfield and Ashfield - which has the country's fourth highest infection rate with 295.5 - are also on the list.
However, with the exception of Newark and Sherwood and Copeland in Cumbria, the rates for the areas outlined in the top 20 have all dropped compared to the previous week.
Rutland - which had the highest infection rate in the country last week - has seen a dramatic fall in its cases, from 199 to 73, and infection rate, from 498.4 in the week up to 4 February to 182.8.
