Junior doctors have continued the second day of an unprecedented strike nationwide today as a result of the Department for Health's attempts to impose a new contract on clinicians.
Medics at the John Radcliffe Hospital have also walked out of emergency care services and many are stationed outside the Headington hospital.
Quote MessageWhat we want is to make sure this contract is not imposed as we don't believe it's safe for patients or fair for doctors. We want the government to come back and negotiate with us to stop the strike, none of us want to be here.

The costs of Oxfordshire's health services are set to grow at a faster rate than the budget for providing them, according to the commissioning body the CCG.
This year the money available to the county's clinical commissioning group rose by around 7.5%, but next year the increase will be 2%.
Quote MessageWe've gone from a very large increase, to something that will now only cover inflation. In the NHS, our costs always run above the national inflation rates, so it will be very challenging [to budget] next year.
David Smith, Chief executive, Oxfordshire CCG

Quote MessageI think it's absolutely shocking and reading the report... it's incredibly concerning that so many different issues were mentioned in this mock inspection [before] Connor lost his life.

But members of the Bed and Breakfast Association have warned that users of the website need to obey regulations, after a garden room rented through the website was found to breach planning rules.
AirBNB says it provides extensive advice on health and safety for users.
Quote MessageThe regulators are way behind the times. They are not currently inspecting properties from websites like AirBNB. If you let property through a website... AirBNB certainly don't check and say they're not responsible for safety.
