  3. Simon Lenighan: Rotherham United release midfielderpublished at 17:38 Greenwich Mean Time 4 February 2016

    Rotherham United have released midfielder Simon Lenighan following an internal investigation.

    The 21-year-old former Leeds United youth team captain joined the Millers on 27 November.

    However, he was suspended a week later after being given a 12-month community order, which includes 150 hours of unpaid work, after pleading guilty to headbutting a woman in February.

  4. Have you seen missing teenagers from Rotherham?published at 17:27 Greenwich Mean Time 4 February 2016

    Police are asking for your help locating a 15-year-old boy and a 16-year-old girl who've gone missing from their homes in Rotherham.

    Daisy Dale, who also goes by the name Britney Everitt, and Dillan Blower have not been seen for over two days and concerns are growing for their welfare.

    Daisy was last seen at about 09:30 on Tuesday 2 February in St John’s Court, Sunnyside. She was due to return home a few hours later but did not.

    Dillan was last seen at about 08:15 on Tuesday 2 February in Reynolds Close, Flanderwell, leaving for school. 

    Officers believe the teenagers are together , externaland may be in Rotherham or Sheffield.

  5. 'Well done them': Praise for Wentworth Woodhouse Trust over £7m purchasepublished at 17:19 Greenwich Mean Time 4 February 2016

    You've been giving us your reaction to the news that Wentworth Woodhouse is to be sold to a preservation trust.

    The stately home, which is one of Europe's largest with 365 rooms and five miles of corridors, is being sold for £7m to the Wentworth Woodhouse Preservation Trust.

    Julie Kenny, the chair of the trust, says work needs to start now to turn the historic country house into a tourist destination of the future.

    We've been talking about an open letter the leader of the Lib Dems at Sheffield City Council has written to the council chief executive John Mothersole.

    It follows the news that the Sheffield based Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS) office is to relocate to London.

    Colin Ross says he was prevented from asking an urgent question about the loss of the BIS jobs at a council meeting yesterday.

    His criticism has now been rejected by Julie Dore, the Labour leader of the council.

    Is Sheffield City Council doing all it can to reverse the government decision to close the Sheffield based Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS) department and move it to to London?

    That's what local Lib Dem councillor, Colin Ross wants to know - and he's written an open letter to the council's chief executive John Mothersole asking for reassurances.

    The government is promising to look at calls to give more money to Sheffield to improve flood defences.

    The Environment Secretary, Liz Truss, says Sheffield's case will be studied as part of a review into whether Britain's flood defences are adequate.

    Ministers say they're spending more on flood defences than ever before, and have given extra assistance to areas directly affected over Christmas.

    An exhibition of artwork featuring many of the players, management and staff of Doncaster Rovers is on show now.

    Doncaster Museum and Art Gallery is playing host, external and well-known faces in the display include Rovers legends James Coppinger, Nathan Tyson, Thorsten Stuckmann and "Made In Doncaster" youngsters Mitchell Lund, Harry Middleton and the McKay brothers. 

    They're the work of artist Barbara Melvin and the exhibition runs until 12 March.
