    HS2 bosses have revealed a new route through South Yorkshire and confirmed plans to scrap Meadowhall station in favour of Sheffield city centre.

    The newly proposed route will run east towards the M18 before rejoining the original route south of the M62.

    The proposed High Speed Rail line to the north could take a radically different route through South Yorkshire. In a new report, the company building the railway want the line to head between Doncaster and Rotherham - rather than around Meadowhall.
