  1. Man injured and house damaged in Rotherham gas explosionpublished at 12:31 British Summer Time 11 July 2016

    A man has been injured in a gas explosion at a house in Rawmarsh.

    Three fire engines were called to the property in Woodleys Avenue at 18:45 yesterday evening and firefighters found the building badly damaged and a small fire in the living room. 

    The explosion is believed to have been caused accidentally by a camping gas cylinder.

    The injured man was taken to hospital. It is not known how serious his injuries are.

    Sheffield Children's Hospital Charity, external will hold an auction on the 20 October at which all elephants from the Herd of Sheffield, external will be sold to raise money for the Children's Hospital.

    The Monkey in Thurgoland is set to close soon.

    But never mind, owner Anthony Youel has always fancied himself as more of an artist anyway.

    He's selling up and moving in a bid to gain artistic recognition in Cornwall.

    On the four-month anniversary of the death of 43-year-old Christopher Cumpsty, police have issued several images, external of people they believe may be able to help piece together his last movements.

    Mr Cumpsty was found dead at his home in Cross Street, Balby, at about 04:30 on Friday 11 March.

    A post-mortem examination concluded that he died from multiple injuries.

    The CCTV images above show an unidentified man helping Christopher with his white van outside Cusworth House flats in Hyde Park. This footage is time-stamped at 06:06 on 9 March.

    The other images below show a man and woman walking along Low Road, Balby, just before midday on 9 March, closed to wheer Christopher was found dead two days later.

    While we are still trying to piece together Christopher’s movements before his death, we know he was subjected to at least one assault in the days leading up to his death. It’s clear he has a number of injuries to his body and ultimately, these injuries killed him. I appreciate that some time has passed, but any small detail could be key to us establishing what happened to Christopher."

    58 elephants are across the city at various locations from Bradfield to Meadowhall, Crystal Peaks to the city centre. We're so excited, we even got elephant cake!
