    Ben Needham police continue finger tip search

    Fingertip searches continue on the island of Kos for missing Ben Needham. We'll have more on BBC Radio Sheffield across the day.

    Alton Towers bosses will be sentenced later over the Smiler rollercoaster crash which seriously injured five people including two from Barnsley.

    The case is being heard at Stafford Crown Court where all the victims have now arrived.

    Operator, Merlin Attractions, is expected to receive a hefty fine after admitting a health and safety breach after an investigation by the Health and Safety Executive found human error caused the crash in June last year.

    Two women lost a leg and three others were seriously injured when their carriage collided with a stationary carriage on the same track.

    BBC Radio Sheffield reporter Kevin Larkin has been following the latest search operation for Ben Needham out on the Greek island of Kos this morning.

    Kevin has been at a police press conference on the island today and following that he spoke to Mid morning presenter Rony Robinson about how the search is being carried out.

    Arnold Palmer -- the American golfer largely responsible for popularising the game in the 1950s and 60s -- has died. 

    He was 87. The United States Golf Association has paid tribute, calling him golf's "greatest ambassador".

    BBC reporter Danny Savage is out in Kos this morning as police begin searching for Ben Needham from Sheffield.

    Officers say they're "optimistic" that a new excavation will provide answers.

    They're starting to dig up farmland close to where the toddler was last seen.

    I'm out in Kos this morning where police are beginning their search for Ben Needham from Sheffield. They will excavate some farmland on the island.

    Detective Inspector Jon Cousins from South Yorkshire Police has been updating me about their plans for the site today and moving forward.

    Jeremy Corbyn was confirmed in his position on Saturday with 61.8 percent of the vote among party members and supporters.

    I've been talking to Detective Inspector Jon Cousins from South Yorkshire Police in Kos this morning.

    He's part of the new effort to find Ben Needham who went missing a quarter of a century ago on the island.

    They're now digging in a place where police believe Ben may have been accidentally run over and buried by a bulldozer working at a building site near to where he disappeared...

    Police investigating the disappearance of a toddler from Sheffield, 25 years ago, are beginning excavation work on the Greek island of Kos today. 

    New information suggests Ben Needham may have been run over by a digger while on holiday there.
