    It'll be windy with clear spells overnight, although the wind should help to prevent a frost.

    One or two showers may affect coastal districts, but for most it should stay dry throughout.

  6. Motorcyclist seriously hurt in collision with bin lorrypublished at 16:52 British Summer Time 18 October 2016

    A motorcyclist was seriously hurt after a collision with a bin lorry in Rotherham.

    The 56-year-old was thrown from her bike in the incident at 11am on Stubbin Road in Wath-Upon-Dearne on Monday.

    The biker was travelling towards Brampton Brierlow when she collided with the bin lorry, which was in its own lane.

    Police are asking anyone who may have been in the Rotherham or Nether Haugh areas around 11:00 and saw the accident to contact them.

    A Sheffield racing team have won the British Superbike Team Championship, despite having their motorbikes taken by thieves earlier in the year.

    The last race took place at Brands Hatch at the weekend, where rookie Tarran McKenzie also bagged the Riders Championship!

    The sister of missing Sheffield toddler Ben Needham says she "still remains hopeful he's out there".

    Leigh-Anna Needham's been speaking after South Yorkshire Police formally ended a three-week search on the island of Kos, saying they believe the toddler died as a result of an accident involving a digger.

    Officers found a toy car they think was with the 21-month-old when he disappeared in 1991.

    Speaking to Good Morning Britain, Miss Needham said her grandparents were 90% sure the toy was Ben's, but that they "can't say for definite" that it belonged to her brother.

    A rail freight firm confirms plans to cut up to 900 jobs due to a "dramatic decline" in markets like coal.

    German-owned DB Cargo has its UK headquarters in Doncaster - 347 people are employed there.

    The Rail, Maritime and Transport union said the announcement was "devastating news".

    Rail freight company DB Cargo - whose UK headquarters are in Doncaster - is planning to cut almost 900 positions across the country. 

    That's almost 30% of its workforce.

    The German-owned firm's blaming a "dramatic decline" in markets such as coal for the move.  

    It says no final decisions have been taken yet, and its proposals are subject to formal collective and individual consultations.
