    Penny Blakemore lives in Sheffield and saw filming take place for the first episode.

    "I was just complaining that I couldn't leave my flat once because there was a Tardis in front of it," she says.

    "But it was really amusing when I was walking around town and kept bumping into the filming. But it's nice that it's in my home. I can't wait to see it on TV."

    Sister Laura, 26, from Cardiff, said the actress will bring "something unique" to the role.

    "I have wanted a female Doctor for a very long time," she said. "I've seen her in Broadchurch and a few other things so I knew she was the perfect choice for the role. I think she's going to be brilliant."

    The world premiere for the latest series of Doctor Who is being held in Sheffield later.

    Hundreds of lucky fans have won tickets to be on the red carpet on The Moor in the city centre.

    The red carpet is out, the TARDIS is primed, all we need now are the stars.

    We’ll be chatting to some of the cast, including Jodie Whittaker, with parts of the new series filmed at Park Hill flats in Sheffield.
