    Midfielder Nathan Ferguson has joined Burton Albion from non-league side Grays Athletic on a two-and-a-half-year deal.

    Ferguson, who had a proposed deal with Fleetwood fall through recently, joins Burton after a successful trial period.  

    He could be Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink's final signing, with the Burton boss in talks with QPR.

    After an impassioned 10-hour Commons debate, the vote was overwhelmingly backed 397 to 223.

    Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn had said the case for war did "not stack up" -   but Stoke Central's Tristram Hunt and Stoke North's Ruth Smeeth voted with the government.

    An inquest into the death of one of the victims of the Bosley Mill explosion is expected to open today.

    Jason Shingler, 38, was one of four people killed in the blast near Macclesfield in July. 

    His body still hasn't been found.

    A fire at an electrical substation caused the loss of power to some 25,000 homes in Staffordshire last night.

    Several fire appliances tackled the flames at the Eastern Avenue site in Lichfield and residents were advised to keep windows closed.

    Earlier this morning Western Power Distribution said power had been restored.
