    A Stoke-on-Trent road remains closed this morning after a pothole measuring "a metre deep" opened up in a carriageway.

    Keelings Road in Stoke-on-Trent was sealed off by Staffordshire Police yesterday afternoon.

    The city council said the cause of the hole is being investigated by Highways England and Severn Trent. 

  6. Two charged after canister set off in McDonald'spublished at 08:53 British Summer Time 21 April 2016

    Two men have been charged by police, external after a gas canister was set off at a fast food outlet in Stafford earlier this week. 

    Emergency services were called to McDonald's on Eccleshall Road on Monday - 12 people were examined by paramedics, with two girls needing hospital treatment.

    Staffordshire Police say a 25-year-old man from Newcastle-upon-Tyne has been charged with possessing a weapon for the discharge of a noxious gas and causing / adminstering a noxious gas with intent to injure/aggrieve/annoy.

    The force says a 23-year-old from Leicester has been charged with possessing a weapon for the discharge of a noxious gas.

    The B5049 Keelings Road in Northwood, Stoke-on-Trent is shut both ways between the A5008 Bucknall New Road junction and the Cromer Road junction.

    It's because of a huge pothole.
