    Stoke-on-Trent has been named as one of the areas across the UK and Ireland that is breaching air quality standards.

    The World Health Organisation has listed places that exceed safe levels for fine particles in the air, known as PM2.5.

    The British Lung Foundation calls the report "deeply concerning".

    The funeral of a seven-year-old boy from Stoke-on-Trent, who was killed when he was hit by a car, takes place today. 

    Kayden Dunn, from Sneyd Green, died in Birmingham Children's Hospital on 19 April. 

    The service takes place at St Mary's Church, in Norton, at 11:30.

    I spoke to George Shakeshaft this morning. He's Jake Shakeshaft's father; Jake is one half of the duo representing the United Kingdom in this weekend's Eurovision song contest, external.  

    He was on his way to Stockholm ready for Saturday's final. 

    The duo, Joe Woolford and Jake Shakeshaft, performed at last night's semi-final.

    Cancer patients in the Midlands are being taught to hold their breath for five minutes while they're being treated for radiotherapy - because it makes the treatment work better.

    Researchers at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, external in Birmingham say because the body is still, they can much more effectively target the cancerous tumour. 

    The three-year study has just finished and involved 15 breast cancer patients.
