    A Yorkshire terrier, which the RSPCA, external believe was dumped in Stoke-on-Trent, was so hungry he tried eating his own fur the charity says.

    The RSPCA says the dog, who they think is aged 10 and has been named Philip, was discovered by the derelict Queen of Hearts hotel in Lilydale Road on Thursday. 

    The charity says he had severely matted hair when he was found and was covered in faeces.

     A West Midlands family who lost three people in last year's terrorist attack in Tunisia has set up a charity to help families affected by terrorism.

    Joel Richards, 19, from Wednesbury, died alongside uncle Adrian Evans, grandfather Patrick Evans and 35 others in terror attacks near Sousse in 2015.  

    The victims of the terror attack also included Sue Davey from Tamworth.

    Thirty of the 38 people killed by a gunman on the beach were British - in March, it was announced that inquests into the deaths would be pushed back to next year

    A man's been charged in connection with a fire at a bar in Stafford , externalat the weekend. 

    Revolution Bar opened last month after a £1m investment in a disused site on Riverside.

    The force says nobody was hurt, but people's lives could have been put in danger.

    A 24-year-old's been charged with one count of arson and one count of possessing a knife in a public place.

    Stoke-on-Trent's Jazmin Sawyers is going to the Rio Olympics.

    The 22-year-old guaranteed qualification after she produced a personal best of 6.75m in the penultimate round of the long jump.

    It gave her both the title at the British Athletics Championships, external and a debut Olympics spot.

    On the A50 in Normacott, Stoke-on-Trent the exit slip road is closed westbound at the Upper Normacot Road junction because of an accident involving a lorry and three cars.

    Congestion is back to the Meir Tunnel.

    The Stoke-on-Trent North Labour MP Ruth Smeeth has joined a wave of resignations from Labour's shadow team in protest at Jeremy Corbyn's leadership.

    She tweeted the news that she was stepping down as Parliamentary Private Secretary to the shadow Northern Ireland and Scotland teams.

    The Stoke-on-Trent Labour MP Tristram Hunt has told BBC Radio Stoke that Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn has lost the faith of the majority of his party's MPs.

    It comes as Mr Corbyn has said he will stand in any new leadership election following the resignations of a string of shadow cabinet colleagues. 

    He lost 12 members of his senior team on Sunday and a further three shadow ministers have resigned on Monday in protest over his EU campaign.
