The Potters defender was penalised for a tug inside the penalty area in Stoke's 4-1 defeat to Manchester City on Saturday.

    Quote Message

I can't carry on giving penalties away. I've let the team down for a silly mistake, having known what was said in the summer and meeting the referees it is a stupid mistake on my behalf. Hopefully I can rectify that in the future and not get done again."

  5. Slavery reports rise fivefold, Salvation Army sayspublished at 12:23 British Summer Time 22 August 2016

Just over 13% of "modern slavery” victims helped by the Salvation Army in 2015/16 were referred from the West Midlands, according to new data.

The charity says it supported 1,805 people in England and Wales during the period – nearly a five-fold increase in the number since 2012.

Anne Read, director of anti-trafficking and modern slavery at the Salvation Army, said the nature of the crime meant it was "always difficult to know the full extent of the problem" and the increase in referrals could be because there were more victims but also "improvements in training and awareness-raising".

    Martin Keown

Suddenly, your world has changed. You are number one under the old manager, but that is the life of a professional. Joe Hart has to get on with it, there is talk of a move to Everton and it might do him good. As long as the manager Pep Guardiola has a plan for him and not excluded him completely.

Guardiola has a strong belief of how he wants to play, defenders bring the ball out and the full-backs are at the halfway line. There is a balance needed to be successful.
