    Beauty salons across the West Midlands have reacted with anger and dismay on Facebook to the "last-minute" news about the further easing of Covid-19 restrictions being postponed.

    The measures originally due this weekend included an increase in the number of guests permitted at weddings and certain beauty treatments on offer for the first time since lockdown.

    However, following an announcement at Friday lunchtime, plans have been put back at least two weeks and mean salons are not able to offer services involving the face, such as eyelash or eyebrow treatments.

    Helen Taylor (pictured), who runs Helen Taylor Asthetics in Rugby, Warwickshire, told the BBC it was a major setback.

    "I've spent nearly £10,000 preparing to open for tomorrow and now I've got nearly 100 clients to rearrange," she said.

    While YLB Salon, Shrewsbury, posted on its Facebook page , externalstaff were devastated and told customers: "Thank you for your understanding and patience during this extremely testing time."

    Jenna Woolliscroft, who runs Bella's Beauty in Stoke-on-Trent, said on her Facebook page, external she was "extremely disappointed this last minute decision has been made" and that she was "truly gutted".

    A 17-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a man was found with serious injuries on Sunday.

    The victim was found inside a flat on Tailors View, Arnold Street, Nantwich at about 20:20.

    The teenager was arrested in Stockport, police say, and remains in custody.

    A 42-year-old man charged with attempted murder in connection with the case is due to appear at Chester Crown Court on 27 August.

    A 50-year-old man, also arrested, has been released on conditional bail.

    Four more venues in Stone, Staffordshire, have closed for the next few days to keep customers and staff safe after several coronavirus cases were linked to a pub.

    There are now known to be 11 confirmed cases linked to the Crown & Anchor.

    Staffordshire Police said it visited the Crown and Anchor in Stone on 18 July and the early hours of 19 July over social distancing concerns and photos emerged online showing a packed beer garden.

    The number of cases in the area is likely to rise with a huge testing effort going on.

    About 500 people were tested on Wednesday and a mobile testing unit remains in Crown Street car park today, but you'll now need to book that online, external.

    Other pubs are closing as a precaution:

    A Facebook post by The Swan in Stafford Street , externalsaid “management and staff have taken the pragmatic decision not to open the pub this week” – despite there being no confirmed Covid-19 cases linked to the pub.

    Yesterday about 500 people were tested in Stone, Staffordshire, after the outbreak centred on a local pub.

    There are so far 10 confirmed cases in the town, but that is likely to rise after intensive testing.

    A mobile testing unit is staying there until at least Sunday, but it is no longer a walk-in service and you'll need to book it online, external.

    Two men have been arrested in connection with an attack in Nantwich which left a 39-year-old man in a critical condition.

    A 42-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and a 50-year-old man detained on suspicion of assisting an offender.

    They made the discovery on Sunday evening in Arnold Street, Nantwich, Cheshire.

    The victim is in a critical but stable condition in hospital, police said.

    The 42-year-old man they arrested remains in custody.
