    Police have named a jogger killed in a road accident in Tamworth on Friday morning. 

    Mark Barlow, aged 48, from Grendon was running along Bolebridge Street when he was hit by a car and pronounced dead at the scene, according to Staffordshire Police.

    A father has been charged with the murder of his two children almost three months after they were found dead at their family home in Hamstead, police have revealed, external.

    Endris Mohammed was interviewed by detectives on Tuesday night for the first time since his release from hospital where he was being treated for burns suffered during a car fire in Staffordshire.

    The 46-year-old, of Holland Road, has now been charged with the murder of Saros Endris, aged eight, and six-year-old Leanor Endris - found at their home on 28 October last year.

    He is also accused of attempted murder of the children's mother, Penil Teklehaimanot, and will make his first appearance at Walsall Magistrates Court later on Wednesday.

    A woman was forced to the floor and hit on the back of the head with what is believed to be a hammer in a robbery at a Co-op in Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire Police, external says.

    Four men armed with hammers threatened staff at the site in Wimborne Avenue on Monday evening before stealing cash and cigarettes. 

    The member of staff who was hit on the back of the head had a minor injury and did not need hospital treatment.

    A man killed in a collision in Tamworth on Friday morning has been named by Staffordshire Police, external.

    Mark Anthony Barlow, who was 48, of Polesworth Road, Grendon, Atherstone, Warwickshire, was running along Bolebridge Street at about 07:00 when he was struck by a grey Audi. 

  17. Funeral of Jill Saward: Sister says 'many alive because of what she did'published at 17:10 Greenwich Mean Time 17 January 2017

    Victims' rights campaigner Jill Saward's twin sister has told about 250 funeral mourners that her sibling's tireless work saved many lives.

    Ms Saward, 51, was the first rape victim to waive her right to anonymity after she was attacked by intruders at her father's vicarage in Ealing, west London, in 1986. 

    In an at-times tearful tribute at the Lichfield Cathedral service, Sue Lancaster said while "the silly things" had bound the sisters together, her sibling's courage and compassion had kept people alive.
