    The chairman of Bristol Rovers has condemned the actions taken by stewards, police and fans after a fight at an away game.

    Steve Hamer has called for an investigation in to police conduct after footage emerged appearing to show a steward punching fans in an argument at the game away at Vale Park on Saturday.

    Two fans were taken to hospital and there were reports of pepper spray being used.

    The BBC has contacted Staffordshire Police and Port Vale football club and is awaiting responses.

    Bristol Rovers' chairman Steve Hamer has called for a full investigation into the conduct of police and stewards at the away match against Port Vale this weekend

    The above images were filmed by a Bristol Rovers supporter at Vale Park on Saturday. 

    At least two fans ended up in hospital, with reports of pepper spray being used and supporters getting punched and pushed to the ground. 

    The BBC has contacted Staffordshire Police and Port Vale and is still awaiting a response.

    The Potters have been ninth at the end of the season in the Premier League in each of the last three seasons. 

    Bowen says having lost just one of their last 11 league games at home provides the base for them to do even better this time.

    Visitors will be able to see more of the mines under north Staffordshire for the first time this weekend. 

    Volunteers from the Apedale Heritage Centre, external, Newcastle-under-Lyme will be taking tours down deeper than ever before to 45m (148ft).

    In order for the tour to happen they came down at night, using shovels to clear the way. 

    The first two trips are sold out but managers at the centre say they'll be putting on more in the future.

    Port Vale defender Remie Streete's knee injury is expected to keep him out for four to six weeks, manager Michael Brown has confirmed. 

    The news follows a visit to Manchester with the club's physio to get it looked at.

    A women's been punched in the face, external in an attempted robbery in Stoke-on-Trent.

    The 28-year-old was walking, say Staffordshire Police, along the alleyway between Mynors Street and Baskerville Road, Hanley yesterday afternoon. 

    Officers say the man tried to grab her bag from behind but punched her in the face when she managed to hold on to it.

    Britain's third largest company, Unilever, has rejected a takeover bid from the American food group Kraft Heinz.

    Unilever, whose brands include Burton-based Marmite, has strongly rejected a takeover bid from US giant Kraft Heinz.

    The offer values Unilever at £150bn. A deal between the two giants would be the third biggest in corporate history.

    Downing Street has defended a letter sent by the prime minister which two Stoke-on-Trent MPs claim wrongly suggests they used a vote in the House of Commons to oppose triggering Article 50, external

    Theresa May's mailing to Stoke Central constituents said that Labour's Ruth Smeeth and Rob Flello voted against her plans for Brexit.

    With just days until the by-election vote, they've called this "dishonest campaigning" as they voted in favour of triggering Article 50. 

    But Number 10 in a statement says the words were intended to reflect the fact they both voted for amendments to the bill, which could impact upon negotiations with the EU.

    Stoke City have confirmed that they're freezing season ticket prices next season - the 10th season in a row that they've done so. 

    The club have yet to put the prices up since winning promotion to the Premier League back in 2008.
