    Graham McGarry

The Crewe Alexandra manager, David Artell, has told BBC Radio Stoke the result against Stevenage was the most frustrated he's felt as a manager.

The visitors held on for a 2-1 win against the Alex on Saturday despite having their goalkeeper sent off in the first half.

Crewe had also seen striker Chris Dagnall sent off after an unseemly tussle between the pair.

  7. Your Questions: How Stoke-on-Trent became a world class centre for pottery published at 13:48 Greenwich Mean Time 27 February 2017

    Allen Cook
    BBC Local Live

You asked on Your Questions : "Why did Stoke become a centre for potteries when it is so far from the source of the clay?"

Well, we thought we'd go to the experts and Angela Lee, manager at the Gladstone Pottery Museum, Stoke-on-Trent, was happy to help.

She says the person asking the question is correct - as an industry at the time of the industrial revolution, the clay material came from long distance, mainly from the south west.

    Gladstone Pottery Museum

She says what Stoke-on-Trent did have was previous experience before the Industrial Revolution of making pottery and, crucially, coal seams in the area.

Angela says it takes around 10 times as much coal as clay to make a pot, so it was more cost effective to bring clay to the Potteries.

If you have something you want to know about Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire,  ask us here and your question could be making the news.

  11. 'Imminent' appeal hearing over Dario Gradi's FA suspensionpublished at 12:41 Greenwich Mean Time 27 February 2017

    Richard Conway
BBC Radio 5 live sports news correspondent

Dario Gradi is to appeal against his Football Association suspension from working in the game.

One source has told the BBC the hearing is "imminent".

Solicitors for Gradi, who was Crewe's director of football at the time of his suspension, are believed to have gathered character references from players, coaches and executives he has worked with over his long career.

Gradi, 75, was suspended by the FA on 25 November last year.

What is still not clear is whether the suspension relates to events while working for Crewe or to reports that while a coach at Chelsea in the 1970s he visited the house of a 15-year-old youth-team player to "smooth over" a complaint of sexual assault by the club's chief scout, Eddie Heath.

Heath, who has since died, has been accused by several people of sexual abuse in the 1970s and 1980s.

A spokesman for the FA said the governing body, which has started an independent investigation into how it handled claims of historical child sex abuse, was unable to comment.

Solicitors for Mr Gradi did not respond to enquiries.

Both forces say the increase is due in part to a change in the classification of crimes and full support is always provided to victims.

A Harry Kane hat-trick and a goal from Dele Alli left the Potters 4-0 down after the first-half as they fell apart at White Hart Lane.

Stoke, who stay 10th, improved marginally in the second half but Mauricio Pochettino's side eased to victory.

    Quote Message

We were too passive and not doing enough to stop balls going to our goal. Clearly Spurs are very good but if you allow teams time and space then good players will hurt you."
