    More than two months after the new 12-sided £1 coin became legal tender, Stoke-on-Trent City Council has admitted some of its parking meters still won't accept them.

    The machines at Clementsons Mill Car Park on Clough Street and some of the meters on Trinity Street are yet to be updated.

    The city council says most of them have now been changed and say they know the transition period might be causing some inconvenience.

    However they add that all drivers must still display a valid parking ticket at all times.

    John Mousinho has just signed a new one-year contract and played in the second tier for the first time last season, having captained the Brewers in all three Football League divisions.

    The 31-year-old admits the Brewers will no longer carry the element of surprise, but says the team, who were playing non-league football less than a decade ago, will be a tougher test for opponents.

    Staffordshire Police says it happened at the Draycott in the Clay branch on Salisbury Avenue and two men made off with £100.

    They say a 33-year-old's been charged with robbery and threatening a person with a blade in public place.

    The force says a second person, arrested for robbery following the incident, is still being questioned by officers.

    One of Britain's most illustrious brewers, who has a close connection to Burton, has been called "probably the greatest brewer" the country has had.

    It comes as a plaque's been unveiled to celebrate the 300th birthday of William Bass who founded the Bass Brewery in the town, aged 60.

    The company became famous across the world for its beer and its red triangle symbol was the UK's first trademark.

    Richard Lewin, who helped organise the honour in his birthplace of Hinckley, said the firm still has "global significance" thanks to its founder.

    A teenager from Lichfield says she was "very nervous" at going to the benefit concert held in the wake of the Manchester attack.

    Zinni Wright had been taken by her father to the Ariana Grande concert on 22 May when a suicide bomber struck.

    Central Motorway Police Group says officers saw and videoed the biker on Saturday afternoon between junction 12 and Stafford services on the northbound side.

    They say they stopped the motorcyclist and reported him for a summons to appear in court at a later date, where he will face several road traffic charges.

    The performance by Stoke-on-Trent singer Robbie Williams at the One Love Manchester concert's been hailed as one of the event's most powerful moments.

    There were high emotions at the benefit concert staged by Ariana Grande in Manchester less than two weeks after the terror attack following her gig in the city.

    In his performance, with a few tweaks to the chorus, Robbie turned a minor 1998 hit into a rousing song to rally the masses.

    Everyone in the crowd could easily bellow the simple chorus, and Robbie bellowed it in between songs too.

    It even overshadowed his classic Angels as his main sing-a-long moment.

    He won praise on Twitter with Adam Pitts tweeting, external: "Amazing @robbiewilliams doing us proud #OneLoveManchester".

    And Jack Mull added, external: "I've got goosebumps listening to Robbie Williams and the crowd singing "Manchester we're strong".
