    Three people, including a 15-year-old boy, are due to appear before magistrates later charged with the theft of two dogs from outside a shop.

    The black Labradors were taken from the street outside a Marks & Spencer store on Beam Street, Nantwich, Cheshire, on Saturday.

    Police said, external the dogs were found in Tunstall, Stoke-on-Trent, and reunited with their owners.

    A 37-year-old man, a 28-year-old woman and the 15-year-old, all from Stoke-on-Trent, have been charged with theft.

    The mother of man who died suddenly at property in Stoke-on-Trent said her heart had been "shattered into a million pieces" by his loss.

    Bartlomiej (Bartek) Sobon, 34, died at a house in Lime Street on 20 February.

    Four people arrested on suspicion of his murder were released as inquiries continue.

    Bartek's mother, who paid tribute after an inquest into his death was opened and adjourned, said the pain she felt "could not be compared to anything".

    "Only a mother can understand what I am feeling," she said.

    “I will love you till the end of my life dearest son, until we meet again.”

    A woman, 30, and two men aged 35 and 42 have been released under investigation, police said. A man, 32, was released on conditional bail.

    More people in Staffordshire can now collect Covid-19 tests to do at home.

    The tests are for people who live with children or staff at schools, nurseries or colleges.

    If you're eligible and don't have Covid-19 symptoms, you can book a test at one of the centres and collect two packs to do at home.

    The rapid lateral flow tests take about half an hour to show a result.

    The county council says with restrictions easing on Monday it needs to do as much as possible to stop the virus spreading.

    Flocks of poultry are going to be checked near a farm in Staffordshire after a case of avian influenza was found.

    The disease was confirmed in broiler chickens at a commercial premises near Uttoxeter.

    A temporary control zone has been put in place around the site and the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs said all poultry at the site would "be humanely culled".

    Stephanie Young, from Staffordshire County Council, said there is no risk to the general public at the moment.

    "If we can make sure we get the biosecurity right and that people do everything that they can do to stop the spread of disease then hopefully this is an isolated incident," she said.

    Officers said they wanted to speak to the two men in the CCTV footage about the theft.

    Det Sgt Vicki Shelton said: "The dogs’ owner is understandably deeply upset. Pets are part of the family and having them stolen is a harrowing and distressing experience."

    Police have put out images of a vehicle driven by a provisional licence holder, adding the words "just when you thought you had seen it all".

    Central Motorway Police Group spoke to the driver of the pick-up in Staffordshire to warn about the "dangerous" load being carried, which was piled far higher than the vehicle.
