Mass coronavirus testing in Staffordshire will start slowly, the county's director of health has said.
Dr Richard Harling said the county council would initially receive 10,000 of the tests, which can give results in under an hour.
It's up to local authorities where to use them, but the number is likely to increase over time and allow testing of asymptomatic people.
The local authority is working out not only where to use the quick result tests in the most effective way, but also how to resource the processing of them.
With no armed forces, as seen in Liverpool, the County Council is likely to have to use its own staff to turn round the tens of thousands of tests a week.

A new cinema and restaurant complex in Crewe, external may not be ready for another four years.
It's due to be built on the site of the empty Royal Arcade shops, where demolition work began last month.
But the plans for the commercial parts of the scheme aren't expected to be finalised until 2022, so building work wouldn't be completed until March in 2025.
The redevelopment plans also include a bowling alley, multi-storey car park and the rebuilding of the bus station next door.
The council now hopes the car park could be built within two years with plans submitted next April and construction starting in December.

People are being urged to stick to lockdown rules to combat rising Covid-19 cases in Staffordshire.
Staffordshire County Council said the county’s rates per 100,000 of the population are now almost 60 per cent higher than the average England rate.
Alan White, leader of the authority, said everyone must continue to follow the new lockdown guidance to prevent the county facing further measures when the current restrictions expire.
Mr White said: “It is still a little too early to say whether the restrictions are working, but we need to be clear that if they don’t, more lives will be put at risk and businesses face being closed for longer."
Dr Richard Harling, the county’s director of health and care, said: “Despite everyone’s best efforts, the numbers are continuing to rise at an alarming rate.
“Following the new rules and sticking to the basics of washing your hands regularly, covering your face on public transport and in shops, and keeping your distance of 2m, is our only chance currently to stop the rapid spread of infection.”

Staffordshire Police is asking parents and carers to have conversations with young people about knife crime as part of a national campaign week.
The county has seen an overall reduction in knife crime, but the issue has still not gone away, despite restrictions under coronavirus, the force says, highlighting the Ditch the Blade message.
According to police, 124 young people were victims of knife crime last year, and 110 young people committed a crime while carrying a knife.
From the Express and Star today:
Remembrance Sunday was marked yesterday.
Restrictions due to coronavirus meant many events were cancelled, but thousands were able to watch a virtual event broadcast from the National Memorial Arboretum in Alrewas, Staffordshire.
The arboretum's honorary chaplain Rev Vic Van Den Bergh drew comparisons between the fight against the virus and armed conflicts.
"There is an obvious parallel between past conflicts and today's pandemic," he said.
