    A warm and humid evening with some sunny spells, but turning rather cloudy with showery outbreaks of rain, perhaps locally heavy with a rumble of thunder. Winds will be light westerly, with temperatures only falling to 10C (50F).

    Saturday will be largely fine and dry with some lengthy spells of sunshine, patchy cloud will build through the day to bring the risk of an isolated afternoon shower.

    Pleasantly warm in the sunshine with a gentle northwesterly wind, sea breezes developing and temperatures reaching up to 23C (73F).

    Tyrone Mings says he thinks "both clubs were happy" with the £8m deal that has seen him leave Ipswich for Premier League side Bournemouth.

    "I'm glad that I'm here, everybody's been welcoming and I'm looking forward to getting started," said the 22-year-old (pictured right).

    Bournemouth players Brett Pitman and Ryan Fraser have moved to Portman Road as part of the deal.

    "Relief I guess is the easiest way to describe it," he said.

    "It all came about quite quickly and I didn't really know about the move until 48 hours ago."

    From Ming to Delft... and more on the story about the 18th Century jug accidentally broken at Ipswich's Christchurch Mansion which has take more than 60 hours to repair.

    A young boy knocked the historic puzzle jug off a window ledge last summer and it smashed into 65 pieces, each of which was logged by conservation technician Carrie Willis.

    It took around 65 hours to glue back together as part of her training project to fix it - an hour per piece. Museum staff are now trying to track down the child who knocked the piece to show him that it's all fixed, reports the Ipswich Star, external.

    Some Ipswich Town, external supporters will be depressed their club has sold one of its rising stars, but I believe it represents a good deal.

    Mings gets the opportunity to play Premier League football so it's obviously good for him, but he is replaceable.

    With £8m in the bank, Mick McCarthy should be able to re-invest in the squad and he gains the services of Ryan Fraser and Brett Pitman (pictured) who were part of the promotion-winning set-up at Bournemouth, external last season.

    Ipswich Town confirm the transfer fee for defender Tyrone Mings is £8m.

    The deal that takes him to Bournemouth doesn't quite match the record transfer fee of an initial £8.1m which Ipswich received for Connor Wickham (pictured right) in 2011.

    The Mings deal, which includes the purchase of Brett Pitman from Bournemouth, could rise to £10m taking in appearances, sell-on clauses and other add-ons.

    Ipswich indie band Bleach are reforming for a hometown gig on Saturday at St Peter's by the Waterfront, external - their first public performance since they split in 1993.

    The reunion has come about because the sister of band members Nick and Neil Singleton needed some entertainment for her wedding.

    Nick Singleton, bass guitarist, said: "She decided that she was having a mini-music festival, so we thought 'great, let's ask Steve and Salli' and all of a sudden we're doing a 'proper gig' as well."

    Ipswich Town writer Stuart Watson, external believes the club's signing of Ryan Fraser (pictured) and Brett Pitman from Bournemouth "could prove to be yet another Mick McCarthy masterstroke".

    The Cherries pair are heading to Portman Road in a deal which sees Tyrone Mings head in the opposite direction for a transfer fee believed to be in the region of £8m.

    More now on that 18th Century Delft puzzle jug which was accidentally broken last summer by a boy while visiting Christchurch Mansion.

    The jug has been painstakingly repaired by the Mansion's Carrie Willis, who undertook the job of fixing it after the accident.

    Here's a picture of work underway... and yes, we'll take a look at the finished restoration before the end of the afternoon.

    The family of 80-year-old John Proctor, who was found dead at his home in Leiston on 15 June, says he is "missed by us all leaving a hole in our hearts that can never be filled".

    Mr Proctor was believed to have been fostered by Mrs E Larter when he was a toddler.

    Another family member, Susan Warne, 41, of Valley Road, Leiston, has been charged with his murder.

    A cancer charity is recommending girls still have the human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccination following claims about adverse side effects.

    Woodbridge School is postponing the jab after reports such as the one in The Independent, external.

    Robert Music, from the Jo's Cervical Cancer Trust, external charity, said: "The side-effects are common ones such as pains and soreness, but the safety profile is as good as many other vaccines and, from our perspective, parents should ensure their daughters have the vaccine as it is potentially life-saving."

    The government's Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency, external says "the expected benefits of the HPV [human papillomavirus] vaccine far outweigh any known risks".

    Girl gets HPV vaccine

    It was responding to a newspaper report, external that the anti-cervical cancer jab for girls had caused the neurological condition postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome, external (Pots) in a 13-year-old and Woodbridge School's decision to postpone its vaccination programme.

    The agency said: "A link between HPV vaccine and Pots has not been proven, and this condition can occur naturally in adolescent girls."

  16. Murder victim 'spent fortune on sweets for local children'published at 15:10 British Summer Time 26 June 2015

    The family of Leiston murder victim John Proctor said the 80-year-old "would spend a fortune on sweets for the local children".

    A family tribute added that "he was a very independent person and took much pride in looking after his home and garden".

    Mr Proctor was found dead at his home on Grimsey Road on 15 June. Family member - Susan Warne, 41, of Valley Road in Leiston - has been charged with his murder.

    This is the result of when a young lad on a museum visit had something of a bull in a china shop moment - these are the 65 pieces of a 200-year-old jug retrieved after a small boy had a mishap at Christchurch Mansion, external last summer.

    Apparently the poor lad, thought to be about five, was devastated after he knocked the 18th Century jug off a window ledge last year.

    But we've got some good news... it's been repaired. I'm off to see the finished article and will have more later.
