    Ipswich Town, external defender Jonathan Parr is set to complete his transfer to Norwegian club Stromsgodset early this week.

    Manager Mick McCarthy confirmed at the weekend the 27-year-old - who joined Town on a two year deal in 2014 - wants to return to his native Norway.

    "He really wants to go home... He's been a really good ambassador for the club and a good player. Whenever he's played he's always done his job, he's played well. Good luck to him."

    The Environment Agency has issued a flood warning for Haverhill, external and Sturmer.

    The Agency says: "River levels continue to rise due to last nights rain. Areas at immediate risk are at Haverhill and Sturmer.

    "Waterside properties are at risk in Haverhill, Broad Green and Sturmer, including the B1054, B1061 and the A143."

    A man has died following a collision between a car and a pedestrian in Nowton this morning, close to the entrance of Nowton Park on the outskirts of Bury St Edmunds.

    Police say the male pedestrian died at the scene, external.

    The road is currently closed while an investigation takes place.

    The East Anglian Air Ambulance, external has attended the scene of a serious collision close to Nowton Park, external in Bury St Edmunds.

    Police were contacted by the ambulance service at 08:00 to reports of a collision between a car and a pedestrian.

    Nowton Road and the park are currently closed.

    The A14 is partially blocked and there's queuing traffic westbound between J58 (A12 Seven Hills) and J57 (A1189 Nacton Interchange) because of an accident involving four cars. 

    The A1088 is closed in Elmswell between the A14 and Heath Road, because of a two-car accident.

    An four-car accident on the A14 westbound between J58 (A12/A1156) and J57 (A1189 Nacton) earlier this morning is causing disruption in the area.

    Ipswich Town, external boss Mick McCarthy admitted his side were fortunate to still be in the FA Cup after Saturday's disappointing 2-2 draw against Portsmouth at Portman Road.

    The League Two side were the better team for large spells and could have been comfortably ahead after a particularly poor first half performance from Town.

    "I thought they were excellent; a really good performance. Whether it's a below-par performance from us or was it because of how well they played?" said McCarthy.

    Road closures at Barking Tye, external near Needham Market are reintroduced today as Anglian Water, external work continues.

    It's hoped the improvements, which are costing £660,000, will reduce the chance of leaks and burst water mains.

    Businesses in Needham Market persuaded Anglian Water to delay repairs in the run up to Christmas, as they were concerned the disruption would hit their trade.

  11. Farmer says he feels like quitting after theftspublished at 08:27

    A west Suffolk pig farmer has told the BBC he feels like giving up after being regularly targeted by thieves.

    Ben Spurgeon, who farms in the Bury St Edmunds area, says he had four fences stolen in one evening: "I've got no power to my pigs, there's a chance of them escaping, getting on the roads. We're just under pressure all the time."

    His comments come as new figures, external from insurance company NFU Mutual show an increase in some rural crime in this region.
