    An Ipswich man has been jailed for 13 years after being found guilty of six counts of indecent assault against a young girl.

    Joseph Page, 62, of Brecon Close in the town, appeared at Ipswich Crown Court this morning for sentencing having been found guilty last month of offences related to a girl aged under 10 at the time.

    The attacks date back to the 1990s and came to light in July 2014 when the victim contacted police.

    Felixstowe & Walton United have strengthened their grip on fourth place in the Premier Division with a 2-1 win at Ipswich Wanderers.

    In the First Division, Woodbridge Town secured all three points at Haverhill Borough winning 1-0.

    It wasn't such a good night for Team Bury who lost 3-0 at Wivenhoe Town.

    Thousands of potholes should be fixed in Suffolk after extra funding from the Department of Transport was announced.

    Extra funding of £250m across England is being allocated for spending on road repairs.

    Suffolk is getting almost £1.4m which should repair around 26,000 potholes.

    The Senagalese - who made 22 appearances for The Blues during the 2011/12 season - was back in Suffolk this week with his current team Harlow Town.

    "They're a good side, it's just a shame they're having a bad run because they could've been up there competing. In the middle of the season, when they needed a few wins, they ended up losing. They just have to finish the season strongly and see what happens," he said.

    St Edmundsbury councillors are being asked to back a scheme for almost 60 homes, external in Great Whelnetham when they meet today.

    The plans are for 23 affordable homes and a further 35 for general sale on the site of Erskine Lodge, the former sheltered housing site.

    There have been objections from the village's parish council and some local residents.

    Suffolk's farmers have been among the first in the country to get the chance to review and debate an NFU report, external on the impact of leaving the EU.

    A number of Suffolk farmers raised concerns about the volume of EU regulations.

    Former agriculture minister Sir Jim Paice, speaking for the "In" campaign, said that won't improve if the UK leaves the EU. "It's kidding ourselves to think it's all because of Brussels," he said.

    The average wait for treatment for an eating disorder in Suffolk is a month, according to figures uncovered by a BBC investigation.

    It took longer for patients here to be treated in 2015 than the previous year, with one person having to wait 222 days from referral to outpatient treatment.

    Andrew Radford from the charity Beat, external says there's not enough money in the system for mental health in general, and for eating disorders specifically. "There's also a serious lack of understanding as to what an eating disorder is, and how to treat it," he added.
