A multi-agency operation in Lowestoft yesterday resulted in almost half the vehicles examined being taken off the road.
Out of 42 vehicles examined, seven were taken off the road straightaway by police, because they were being illegally driven.
The Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency, external took a further 13 vehicles off the road due to their condition.
Almost 30 offences recorded by police included drivers having no insurance, driving licence and/or MOT for their vehicles, with a number also spotted driving without a seatbelt.
