  9. Police say they have 'not found anything' at landfillpublished at 14:24 British Summer Time 21 July 2017

    Alex Dunlop
    BBC Look East

I've been following the search for Corrie Mckeague from the beginning and what I'm sensing on social media today from those close to Corrie is that police may well tell us that they are giving up that landfill search, but that is not confirmed yet.

    Aerial shots of landfill

In the past few minutes police have told me that they have not found anything in the landfill which implies that they will either tell us at the press conference this afternoon that they are further extending the search of the landfill, or they are stopping the search.

The search through 6,000 tonnes of rubbish has been going on for 20 weeks now - originally it was planned for 10 weeks.

Even with extending the search by those 10 weeks, they are no closer to finding out how he disappeared than they were at the outset of the investigation 10 months ago.

    • Barely a week into the New Year, Corrie Mckeague's girlfriend, April Oliver, reveals she is expecting his baby.

    • In early February, police reveal their plans to search the landfill site at Milton in Cambridgeshire for Mr Mckeague and a month later, on 6 March, the search begins.

    • 7 March - It's revealed a man who was arrested and bailed on suspicion of attempting to pervert the course of justice was questioned over the weight of rubbish collected from the horseshoe area of Bury St Edmunds
    • 8 March - It emerges the bin load weighed more than 100kg (15st 10lb), not 11kg (1st 10lb) as previously thought, and the arrested man is told no further action will be taken
    • 5 May - Police say the investigation has cost £1m to date
    • 19 June - April Oliver announces on social media she has given birth to a baby girl
