    Bishops in Sussex have called for an end to the "cycle of blame" in the ongoing Southern dispute.

    In a letter jointing addressed to Southern's parent company Govia, union leaders and the Department for Transport, the Bishop of Chichester, Dr Martin Warner, refers to the misery caused to working people and their families who rely on the railways for the well being.

    Responding to the letter, Southern's passenger services director Alex Foulds called it an "interesting intervention", and said that the company has a moral obligation to modernise.

    Aslef, has begun a ban on overtime, whilst the RMT union has started another three-day walkout over the role of conductors.
