    More sheep are dying in Sussex due to incidents with dogs than in any other part of the country, according to police figures. 

    In the latest, in Boreham Bridge near Ninfield in East Sussex, 18 sheep were killed and many more may have lost the lambs they were carrying. 

    It's thought the sheep were spooked by two dogs, causing them to stampede and break out of their field and onto the road, where some of them were hit by a car.

    A £1,000 reward is being offered by the owner of a garage in Eastbourne after 11 motocross bikes were stolen. 

    Two people, wearing masks and gloves, broke into the garage in Friday Street on the evening of 17 December. 

    They also took a van, motocross accessories and GoPro cameras. 

    The van was found burnt out near Hailsham later that evening.

    Aslef members have rejected a deal with Southern rail that would have ended a long-running industrial dispute.

    It had been arguing with parent firm, Govia Thameslink Railway (GTR), over driver-only operated (DOO) trains.

    Members of the drivers' union rejected the deal by 54.1% to 45.9%. The turnout was 72.7%.

  14. Police officer sacked for sharing pornpublished at 15:06 Greenwich Mean Time 17 February 2017

    Crawley PC Mark Scruby, who's 38, has been sacked after sharing pornographic images with his colleagues - including a female supervisor he compared to the women in the pictures. 

    All five of the allegations happened when he was on duty in February last year. He had appealed against a previous dismissal hearing, last May, but was dismissed without notice after a second hearing yesterday.
