  2. Couple tied up by burglars in their homepublished at 10:26 Greenwich Mean Time 14 March 2017

    A couple were tied up by four men who they disturbed burgling their home.

    They returned to their house in Buckswood Drive at around 20:00 GMT yesterday and found that a patio door had been smashed.

    As they went inside, the men grabbed them.

    They were forced to open a safe and the men removed jewellery, watches and a quantity of cash. They were then tied up in a bathroom, but managed to escape after the men had left.

    The men were wearing masks and gloves. 

    The couple were not injured.

    The grandson of the late rock legend Keith Emerson is running the mini mile on the weekend of the Brighton Marathon to raise money for charity.

    Zac Emerson's grandfather died last year . Keith Emerson was in Emerson, Lake and Palmer who were best known for their 1977 hit Fanfare for the Common Man.

    He had Dystonia - a condition characterised by uncontrollable and painful muscle spasms caused by incorrect signals from the brain.

    Zac, who's from Shoreham, has so far raised nearly £900.

    Dog owners are being warned they could be prosecuted and their pets shot dead if they allow them to chase sheep.

    It's lambing season, and farmers across the South East are already reporting cases of sheep worrying.

    One Sussex farmer is counting the cost of an attack which saw 14 of his ewes killed.

    The first turbines have been installed as part of the Rampion wind farm being built off the Sussex coast.

    The project is due to be completed in 2018.

    The company behind it claims when finished, the offshore wind farm will provide enough electricity to supply nearly 350,000 homes a year - equivalent to around half the homes in Sussex.

    It is unclear which flat the man fell from, Sussex Police said

    Police are due to continue questioning a 54-year-old man who was arrested on suspicion of murder following the death of a 93-year-old man in St Leonards yesterday morning.

    It is believed the man died after falling from a seafront apartment block at around 09:00 GMT at Marine Court.

    He was declared dead at the scene.

    Sussex Police are appealing for anyone with information to the contact them.

    There was another strike by members of the RMT union yesterday - and I spoke to passengers at Brighton station during yesterday's 24-hour walkout.

    One woman didn't think there was a strike being held but was under the impression previous strikes had been held on Sundays because she'd suffered so much disruption at weekends.

    It's one of the most recognisable landmarks in the whole of Sussex and from today you'll get a chance to see what it would have looked like in its heyday.

    We're talking about the Brighton Pavilion and a new exhibition that opens today revealing rarely-seen images of the estate dating back centuries - even before it was built.
