    Bob Dale

Police are hunting a man who did nothing to prevent his dog biting a 10-year-old girl in Littlehampton.

She was with her aunt in a playing field at South Terrace, when her football rolled towards a bench where two men and a woman were sitting with three dogs.

As the girl went to fetch the ball one of the dogs, described as a slightly fluffy greyhound type, ran at her, chased her and bit her on the left buttock, causing puncture wounds.

Rather than help, the trio are said to have just laughed.

The owner of the dog which attacked the girl is described as in his mid-fifties, with dark hair and an American accent.

    Quote Message

The girl was very upset. She is now scared to go to any park for fear of seeing a dog and is even frightened by her own family's dog, which may now have to be re-homed."
