  2. Aurigny apologises for jet problemspublished at 09:04 British Summer Time 17 July 2017

    Aurigny has apologised to customers after its only jet was taken out of action due to damage it suffered at Gatwick Airport.

    The airline says in a statement: "We are working with Embraer to assess the extent of the damage and the appropriate course of action.

    "We are working hard to draw up alternative arrangements and keep disruption to a minimum."

    Aurigny will use the smaller ATR aircraft on the route until a replacement jet can be found.

  3. ICYMI: New technology to prevent accidents on railway trackspublished at 08:30 British Summer Time 17 July 2017

    From this morning new technology is being used to keep people safe on some of the South East's level crossings.

    Warnings will be sent to mobile phones as pedestrians and drivers approach one of seven crossings in Kent and Sussex.

    It comes as shocking footage is released, showing youngsters taking pictures as they walk on railway lines.

    After reaching the semi-final at her home tournament in Eastbourne before withdrawing injured, and the semi-final of Wimbledon last week, she's up to fourth.

    A 20-year-old pilot from Horsham has become the youngest woman to fly with the US Air Force Thunderbird display team.

    Beth Moran started flying a year ago after deciding she wanted to do something positive following the Shoreham air disaster.

    She took to the skies over RAF Fairford in Gloucestershire.

    The F16 combat jets are in the UK as part of the 70th anniversary celebrations and will fly this coming weekend at the Royal International Air Tattoo.
