    Sussex Police have just confirmed that what was first suspected as an unexploded WW2 bomb is, in fact, a fuel tank.

    The area had been cordoned off yesterday evening and overnight, and has led to major disruption in the area.

  7. Peacehaven: Exclusion zone set up after 'unexploded bomb' foundpublished at 06:17 British Summer Time 7 September 2017

    The emergency services and a bomb disposal team have been in Peacehaven throughout the night after an unexploded bomb was discovered on a building site.

    Last night residents were evacuated from their homes and the A259 South Coast Road remains closed after the World War Two device was found yesterday afternoon.

    Sussex Police have said the bomb could contain up to 1,000 lb of high explosives.

    A 200m exclusion zone is in place around the site opposite the Dell Park.

    This was the scene in Peacehaven last night.
