    The mother of a five-month old baby who died because she needed a heart transplant is calling for the organ donation law to be changed.

    Almost two million people are on the register but their family's consent is still needed before a donation.

    In the last 10 years 330 people have died while waiting for a transplant in Kent, Sussex and Surrey.

    Police in Brighton are investigating a series of attempted thefts by moped riders in Brighton.

    A woman had her iPhone 6 stolen in Coombe Road around 14:50 BST.

    It followed several reports of two mopeds being ridden dangerously and without crash helmets.

    Detectives are particularly keen to hear from anyone who may have filmed any of the incidents.

    A 17-year-old from Brighton has been arrested on suspicion of theft and being carried on a motor vehicle taken without the owner's consent.

    A man's been seriously hurt after crashing his motorbike in Bognor.

    Police say the 29-year-old had failed stop for police moments earlier and was being pursued at the time of the crash.

    He suffered head and leg injuries and was taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton where doctors say his injuries aren't life-threatening

    No other vehicle was involved in the crash, which happened just after 00:30 BST today.

    Sussex Police says the Independent Police Complaints Commission has been informed.

    Fire crews have been tackling a fire at a high rise building in Brighton.

    Six fire engines were sent to Albourne Close just after 12:30 BST after smoke was seen coming from the back of a block of flats.

    The fire was on the eighth of nine floors.

    East Sussex Fire and Rescue say nobody's been hurt.

    Police searching for a missing Hastings man have found a body.

    Dene Brazil was reported missing on Tuesday 5 September and was last seen walking along the seafront in St Leonards the day before.

    Although the body hasn't been formally identified, officers say it's believed to be the missing 51-year-old.

    He was found in woodland near Croft Road at 09:40 BST today.

    A 20-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of arson following a house fire in Peacehaven on Monday 11 September.

    It was reported that the fire broke out at 19:50 BST at a property in Cissbury Avenue.

    Police say the owner of the house was not inside the property at the time of the incident.

    Firefighters are tackling a blaze at a bungalow in Shoreham.

    The fire broke out at the property in Kingston Close around 13:50 BST.

    Six fire engines are at the scene. It's thought more crews may be sent, but there are no reports of casualties at this stage.

    The company looking for oil at a site near Billingshurst has been given a 12-month extension to its license.

    UK Oil and Gas believe there could be millions of gallons in rocks below the Weald.

    West Sussex County Council unanimously approved the application for Broadford Bridge this morning, despite receiving nearly 400 objections.

    The site has been the target of protests in the past.

    Clinton Goodfellow is being sought by police after he failed to turn up at Hastings magistrates court on a theft charge.

    The 39-year-old from Hastings is also wanted for recall to prison after his release licence was revoked.

    Police say he'd been let out of prison in May part way through a 39-month sentence for robbery.

    It's thought he's still in the Hastings area.
