    Olympic champion Dame Kelly Holmes has spoken of how she self-harmed as she struggled to overcome injuries she thought would end her career.

    Dame Kelly, who lives in Kent, won gold in the 800m and 1,500m competitions in Athens in 2004.

    She said just a year earlier she was "cutting" herself regularly "to release the anguish" she experienced.

    Dame Kelly said: "At my lowest, I was cutting myself with scissors every day that I was injured."

    A third person has died after a horrific crash in Hawkhurst on Saturday night.

    16-year-old Chelsea Rose Betts had been intensive in care.

    The crash happened at 21:30 BST on Saturday on the A268 Rye Road, near to the Foxhole Lane junction in Hawkhurst.

    A 44-year-old man and a 50-year-old man were both confirmed dead at the scene.

    A red Volvo hatchback was travelling from Hawkhurst towards Sandhurst when it hit the wall, according to Kent Police.

    Police have appealed for witnesses or anyone who saw the Volvo before the crash to contact them.

    A report published today says there were failings in Parsons' care, but the killing was "neither predictable nor preventable".

    Joe's family say they're devastated.
