    A murder investigation has been launched after a woman's body was discovered in Brighton this morning.

    The woman, 46, was found at a house in Sandgate Road.

    She had sustained multiple stab wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene.

    A 51-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder.

    Sussex Police says the suspect and victim appear to have been known to each other, and they aren't seeking anyone else in connection with the incident.

    Police have appealed for information from anyone who saw or heard anything suspicious in or around Sandgate Road between 18:00 BST on Wednesday and 06:00 BST today.

    Raphael Bellamy Plaice,13, has won the boy's section of the BBC Radio 2 Young Choristers of the Year competiton.

    Raphael from Lancing College, was previously head chorister of Chichester Cathedral choir until July this year.

    In total eight contestants went through to the finals, including Joseph Henry from Canterbury Cathedral.

    The grand final of the competition took place in the BBC Philharmonic Studios in Salford and was aired on Radio 2 yesterday night.

    Ischia Gooda from Rugby School also won the girl's section of the competition.

    The words of one of the most famous poems to emerge from the horrors of World War One have been written in poppies across locations in England, Wales and France.

    It's been done by the Royal British Legion to launch this year's Poppy Appeal to help veterans of the armed forces.

    In Flanders Fields was written by a Canadian officer called John McCrae and is read by poet Michael Rosen.

    An ambulance trust that has been in special measures for more than a year is consistently failing to meet the national target for 999 call-outs.

    Last month, South East Coast Ambulance Service (Secamb) reached 50.8% of red one calls and 39.9% of the less serious red two calls within eight minutes.

    Chief executive Daren Mochrie said the figures were "extremely disappointing". The national target is 75%.

    Labour MP Peter Kyle said it was "the worst performance ever recorded in the UK".

    The MP for Hove and Portslade said he would be calling for a meeting with the trust and the regulator, NHS Improvement.

    The September figure for red one call-outs was significantly lower than the previous two months, with 59.4% for August, and 57.5% for July.

    Police have found 15 people in the back of a lorry at motorway services.

    Officers were called to Medway Services on the London-bound stretch of the M2 in Kent on Wednesday.

    At 16:25 BST officers found 15 people, believed to be foreign nationals, leaving the lorry, Kent Police said.

    A force spokesman said they had since been placed in the care of Home Office immigration officials.

    A man who ran a prostitution network across the South East with women from China and Korea has been given a four year prison sentence.

    Hong Chin advertised women for prostitution online and booked them into hotels to meet clients.

    At least 19 women were exploited.
