    An escaped prisoner who tried to evade police by driving down the wrong way of a busy motorway has been jailed for two years.

    Darryl Dempsey, 23, from Eastbourne, pleaded guilty to dangerous driving at Southampton Crown Court.

    He also pleaded guilty to escaping from lawful custody, driving while disqualified and criminal damage.

    The court was told Dempsey had been wanted by police after absconding from Ford prison in West Sussex on 3 July.

    Police footage shows Dempsey driving across fields, driving on footpaths and even attempting to drive down the wrong way of the M3.

    Officers hit the 4X4, which overturned, ending the 13-minute pursuit in Chilworth shortly before 22:30.

    Two men are wanted for alleged conspiracy to supply cocaine and possession of stun guns in Brighton and Hove.

    Orges Dema and Olsi Fizzlaj, both 20, were arrested in the city in December 2016.

    They were then released on bail pending further enquiries but failed to answer to their bail in February 2017.

    Dema was last known to have been living in Regency Square in Brighton and Fizzlaj in Hangleton Way in Hove.

    Sussex Police are asking anyone with any information of their whereabouts to contact them.

    Surrey Police say they're increasingly worried about a vulnerable woman who disappeared from home nearly two weeks ago.

    Margaret Rule from Farnham was last seen at the town's train station on 21 December.

    Officers say the 54-year-old tends to wear the same clothes and was last seen wearing a beige skirt, brown patterned tights, beige shoes, a dark coat and a distinctive purple hat.

    She has links to Brighton and the south coast.

    Police say they're extremely concerned about a homeless woman who's been missing since New Year's Day.

    Zoe Mitchell is believed to be in the Bracklesham Bay area near Selsey.

    Police have released CCTV images after six mobile phones were stolen from a Carphone Warehouse store.

    On Monday 11 December, three men entered the store in Lion Retail Park, Woking.

    At around 15:30 GMT they reportedly grabbed a number of mobiles worth over £4,000 before running out of the store.

    Surrey Police is appealing for witnesses to come forward.

    MP Charlie Elphicke says he is still unaware of what he has been accused of, two months on from his suspension from the Conservative Party.

    The Dover and Deal representative had "serious allegations" made against him, and was referred to the police.

    Speaking earlier, the former party whip maintained his innocence: “It’s now two months since I was accused of unspecified allegations.

    "To this day, I have not been interviewed by the police and they have not told me what I am accused of or who my accuser is.”

    Earlier Prime Minister Theresa May refused to comment on his suspension.
