    Parts of the South East have seen widespread snowfall and freezing temperatures.

    An amber warning for snow in the north and east of Kent has been lifted by the Met Office.

    Here's a quick recap:

    * The conditions led to some vaccination centres being closed in Kent, Sussex and Surrey.

    * Southeastern Rail strongly advised passengers not to attempt to travel on its network on Monday, saying a number of lines were closed, external.

    * Southern Rail said it planned to run services on all routes, external, but if the weather worsened some may need to be closed.

    * Farmers have been helping clear snow-clogged roads in parts of Kent to keep rural routes open.

  13. Bin collections suspended due to snow and icepublished at 13:46 Greenwich Mean Time 8 February 2021

    Bin collections in parts of Kent and Surrey have been suspended due to snow and ice, councils have said.

    Maidstone Borough Council suspended all collections on Monday, affecting Headcorn, Staplehurst and Marden, as well as a number of other areas.

    Residents have been advised to make sure their bins are readily available for when the crews return to catch up.

    All garden waste collections in the area have also been cancelled for the week.

    In Surrey, Tandridge District Council said its recycling and rubbish collections have been also been suspended until weather conditions improve.

    An amber warning for snow in the north and east of Kent has been lifted by the Met Office.

    A yellow warning remains in place across the south east of England until Wednesday evening, with the Met Office advising that "frequent snow showers may lead to travel disruption in places".

  20. Southern will run trains 'on all routes'published at 09:08 Greenwich Mean Time 8 February 2021

    Southern said it plans to run rail services as normal on Monday, but has warned that some routes may close "if the severity of the weather worsens".

    It advised customers to "leave plenty of extra time and only travel if it's essential".
