Read MoreA Dorset fish merchant has told BBC Radio Solent that the UK seafood industry in the south is at risk of collapse within weeks unless the post-Brexit trading environment with European countries is improved. Samways Fish Shop in West Bay is a 60 year old family business - it works with more than 150 local vessels and 95 per cent of its exports are to European countries. But deliveries of fresh produce are taking up to twice as long to reach customers, with stock delayed at French ports by a combination of red tape, paperwork and IT issues. The Samways family has written a letter to Government asking for urgent action to be taken to quicken the export process. A DEFRA spokesperson said: "We are working closely with the industry to help understand and address the issues they are experiencing. The UK and French systems are working, but we are contacting exporters, their representatives and transporters to help them understand the requirements to keep their goods moving". Read MoreAs Heathrow passenger numbers nosedive, its boss says "a road map" out of lockdown is needed.
Read MoreLondon Heathrow Airport saw a 72.7% fall in passenger numbers during 2020 due to the impact of the coronavirus pandemic, it has been revealed.
Some 22.1 million people travelled through the west London airport last year compared to 58.8 million in 2019.
In December, passenger numbers fell by 82.9% year on year to 1.1 million.
The airport's chief executive John Holland-Kaye said the last year had been "incredibly challenging for aviation".
"While we support tightening border controls temporarily by introducing pre-departure testing for international arrivals, as well as quarantine, this is not sustainable.
"The aviation industry is the cornerstone of the UK economy but is fighting for survival. We need a road map out of this lockdown, and a full waiver of business rates," he said.
It was announced last week that all travellers to the UK from international destinations will have to test negative for coronavirus before they can enter the country.
Passengers arriving by boat, train or plane - including UK nationals - will have to take a test up to 72 hours before leaving the country of departure. The new rules are expected to come into force later this week.
