    A man has appeared in court charged with the murder of a teenager who went missing in 2002.

    Keith Hall, 61, appeared at Teesside Magistrates’ Court charged with the murder of 19-year old Rachel Wilson from the Easterside area of the town.

    The body of Miss Wilson was found in 2012, leading to a murder investigation.

    Twenty Cleveland Police officers worked exclusively on the case.

    Mr Hall, from Grove Hill in Middlesbrough, entered no plea and no application for bail was made.

    He is also charged with living off the earnings of prostitution and perverting the course of justice.

    He will next appear at Teesside Crown Court on Wednesday.

    Police investigating the murder of Rachel Wilson, who went missing in Middlesbrough in 2002, have charged a man with her murder.

    The 19-year-old's body was found on farmland near Coulby Newham.

    A 61-year-old man has been charged with murder, living off prostitution and attempting to pervert the court of justice.

    He's due to appear before Teesside magistrates today.

    The 38-year-old woman was attacked between 22:00 and 22:30 in the Discovery Bar in Captain Cook Square on Saturday.

    More than 500 drivers have been caught using a bus lane in Gateshead in three days.

    After many years of drivers ignoring the signs on South Shore Road, Gateshead Council switched on a bus lane camera to deter motorists from breaking the law.

    Those caught in the first few days are being sent a written warning rather than being sent a £60 penalty fine.
