    Durham 531-7 dec v Notts 220-8

There's a bit of drizzle in Chester-le-Street and the main covers are on. Looks like some of that unreliable southern weather has accidentally moved north.

Hopefully, it's just a passing shower and we will get going soon. If Durham take two quick wickets this morning they may enforce the follow-on.

But it will be interesting to see how much of a part fast bowler Neil Wagner can play.

He took four wickets yesterday, but then fell heavily on his shoulder while fielding and headed off back to the dressing room.

It was during a sloppy period of play, from a bowling point of view, when things suddenly started to turn in Durham's favour this afternoon.

Notts were 96-1 and the boundaries were coming freely. Debutant fast bowler Daniel Hogg had been pulled out of the Durham attack after just three overs, which had cost 26 runs.

Neil Wagner was then brought back on at the Finchale End. He went for a couple of fours, then packed the legside field and had Haseeb Hameed caught down the legside for 44.

Notts went from 96-1 in the 21st over to 122-6 by the midway point of the 33rd over. Wagner took three wickets during that period, while Bas De Leede and Ben Raine also claimed a dismissal each.

Raine has been particularly tight. He's bowled five maidens in his 12 overs and taken 1-20.

    Durham 506-6 v Notts

Ashton Turner is playing in his first County Championship match and has marked the occasion with his fifth century in first-class cricket.

Turner, who is from Perth in West Australia, has only played white-ball cricket for Durham until now. He has returned to the UK for the T20 quarter final at The Oval, on 3 September.

He's also put on 100 with Dutchman Bas De Leede, who has 71.

The last time these two sides met in the Championship in 2022, Notts had four centurions in one innings. Durham now have three in this. Will De Leede be the fourth?

Durham have taken maximum batting points in this one, while Notts had to settle for two bowling points.
