Emilio Gay has joined Alex Lees in reaching three figures for Durham today. And how he needed that because he's already had three ducks in four innings this season.

His century came in 163 balls and included 12x4s, but just moments after getting there the players left the field once again because of bad light.

It's certainly been Durham's day though. The Yorkshire bowling looks blunt and the only wicket to fall today came at the end of the sixth over.

Lees will resume, at some point, on 148 and his partnership with Gay is 242 runs from 346 balls.

Alex Lees and Emilio Gay have become record breakers.

They have now added 211 for the second wicket stand - the highest second wicket partnership for Durham against Yorkshire.

It beats the 204 put on by Michael Di Venuto and Will Smith against them here in 2009. That game ended in a draw.

Lees currently has 140 and Gay is on 83.

There were 44 overs left of the day when the players went off for bad light and tea at 3.48pm.

Two overs have been lost, but I think the possibility of getting the majority of the remaining 42 overs in will be on the slim side.

It's still a bit gloomy, even with the lights on and there's plenty of low cloud about.

It's got quite gloomy here again. The afternoon started with some sunshine but by 3.30pm the lights were on as low, dark cloud drifted in.

On a day where they are playing 104 overs, to try and claw back eight of the overs lost to bad light yesterday, I am not sure how much more action we will see, unless this greyness moves on through.

Yorkshire will be happy to be in the dressing room though because they have struggled with the ball today. Alex Lees has 139 and Emilio Gay 74.

They have put on 202 runs in 284 balls and if they can score three more runs they will break the Durham record, for a second wicket stand against Yorshire.

That was 204 scored by Michael Di Venuto and Will Smith here in 2009.

Alex Lees has batted really nicely today.

Despite losing Ben McKinney in the sixth over this morning, Durham have not really appeared to be in too much trouble since. Yorkshire need wickets but where are they coming from?

Alex Lees and Emilio Gay have batted steadily since coming together with Durham on 22-1 in the morning session.

Lees has 85 and Gay 41 and their second-wicket partnership is now worth 110 runs from 160 balls.

The heavy cloud cover we had earlier has broken up and it's a lot brighter now than it was earlier, so that may be helping the batsmen as well.

Durham took little time to end the Yorkshire first innings this morning, with Ben Raine taking the first wicket of the day on his second delivery, havig taken two in two with the first over of the new ball last night.

He bowled debutant Ben Sears for one, with the bail nearly making its way off the field! Dom Bess was then the last man out for 66, caught on the mid-wicket boundary by Graham Clark off Matthew Potts.

Yorkshire lost four wickets for 12 runs in just six overs after the new ball was introduced. They ended up with two batting points and Durham took three bowling points.

The hosts will now be hoping the likes of Emilio Gay, Will Rhodes and Ollie Robinson can get some runs on the board following poor starts to the season.
