After a 101 partnership for the fourth wicket, Durham have now lost two in the space of 2.2 overs.

Will Rhodes was on 50 when he pulled a ball from Dom Bess straight to James Wharton at mid-wicket. And one soon led to two as Ollie Robinson was out just seven balls into his innings.

He's struggled at times this year and chose to leave a ball from George Hill which clipped his off stump. He departed for one.

Robinson spent the winter overseas with the England Test side but looks way off the player he was in 2024. Last year he averaged 48.38 and his season included two centuries and five half centuries. He made 871 runs.

This year he's averaging 29 with one century and three half centuries. He's scored 587 runs, which is quite a difference.

David Bedingham, who has 66, has now been joined by Graham Clark.

David Bedingham has been very patient today and has reached 50 for the 59th time in first-class cricket - and how Durham needed that after they were reduced to 7-2 when he came in.

He added 51 for the third wicket with Ben McKinney, who was out before lunch for 29.

And since then he and Will Rhodes have added another 86.

Batting looks a bit simpler this afternoon, although a big cloud is sitting right over us and the lights are on.

Durham chose to bat in the Leeds sunshine, on what is said to be a flat track. But both openers fell in the first five overs, with Finlay Bean helping himself to two catches at third slip.

Matt Milnes thought he had Alex Lees with his 10th ball of the day, when the batsman left the delivery and it angled back in and over off stump.

Next ball he did get him though, as Lees edged to Bean and then punched his bat in anger with himself.

And in the next over Gay departed, as he edged Jack White to the slips. Certainly not the start Durham were looking for as they try to avoid relegation back to division two.

The ball is nibbling around a bit and the bowlers have been bowling tight lines. It will be interesting to see how this one develops from here.
