We're not quite sure why Durham continued batting as long as they did. But the innings eventually came to an end when Codi Yusuf was run out for seven.

Durham were all out for their highest First Class score of 664. It beats the 648-5d they coincidentally set here against Notts in 2009.

At 174.1 overs it is now their longest innings too, beating the 172.1 overs at Worcester in 2009.

The lead is 257 and there are 16 overs left of day three, providing the light holds. It's been gloomy and cold in CLS all day.

That's centuries in back-to-back innings for Durham's Graham Clark.

Two weeks ago he made his highest score, 160, in a draw at Hampshire.

Today he got to three figures with a risky single on 99. It took 144 balls, 9x4s and 1x6.

It's the third time Durham have had at least three centurions in an innings v Notts.

The total has just reached 602-7 which is the ninth time they have reached the 600 mark in FC cricket.

Their highest score is 648-5d , which was against Notts, here, in an innings win in 2009. The week they retained their county title.

Graham Clark has broken a record he set at Trent Bridge in April this year.

He and Colin Ackermann put on 145, which was Durham's highest sixth-wicket stand against Notts. Today he's put on 162 with Ollie Robinson for the sixth wicket.

Durham are 564-5 and lead by 157. There's only been one wicket today and that was this morning when Emilio Gay was out for 104.

Clark has 83 and Robinson 141.

Ollie Robinson has joined Emiiio Gay in reaching 100 in this game. It's his 10th in First Class cricket. And the efforts of him and Gay have cancelled out Haseeb Hameed's double hundred for Notts on day one.

Robinson last made a century in the heat of Chelmsford last June. He also scored 171*, this week last year, at Blackpool.

But the knock at Essex was the start of a long run of low scores - until he made 76 at Hampshire two weeks ago. Prior to that he'd amassed just 201 runs in 16 championship innings, as the early season form of 2024 deserted him.

It's good to see him scoring well again though, although he was dropped earlier today on 35 by Joe Clarke, at first slip, off the bowling of Mohhamad Abbas.

However, this is a road of a track and there's nothing in it for the bowlers at all. Even if Durham build a big enough lead to allow them to declare, it is going to be very difficult to take 10 Notts wickets in the time left in the game.

Ollie Robinson and Emilio Gay have added 94 runs so far for Durham's fifth wicket.

Robinson got to his half-century a little earlier but could have been out moments later. A short ball from Rob Lord seemed to hold up in the track and Robinson was through the shot too early.

It was heart-in-the-mouth stuff as the ball arched towards the covers, but thankfully for him it was just out of reach of Liam Patterson-White.

The deficit is now 35 runs and that should be wiped out well before lunch. Robinson has 56 and Gay 94.

Despite the greenness of the wicket it's been a good one to bat on so far. Durham resume their first innings, on the third morning, 87 runs behind Notts' first innings total of 407.

Barring a batting collapse, you'd imagine they will edge in front some time before lunch and then look to build a decent lead.

Emilio Gay will resume on 74 and Ollie Robinson 25. Their partnership is worth 42.
