16:07 BST 5 MayResult: Hampshire (470) drew with Durham (511 & 61-0)
Martin Emmerson
BBC Radio NewcastleThis game has thankfully been put out of its misery. On a cold afternoon in Southampton, with few in the ground, the umpires have decided that's that.
It's a mirror image of the draw here last year. That was a game heading nowhere, which also came to a premature ending because of a bit of wet weather.
Hampshire remain unbeaten this season and take 12 points from the encounter and Durham are now unbeaten in three and take 13 points, as they head into a week off.

12:17 BST 5 MayHampshire 468-9 v Durham 511
Martin Emmerson
BBC Radio NewcastleBen Brown has fallen just short of a career-best score today. He's just been bowled leg stump by Codi Yusuf for 162. He faced 275 balls.
His best score was 165* in a win against Surrey last year. He also made 163* for Sussex against Durham in 2014.
Hampshire now have the last pair at the crease and Durham will hope to be batting again in the not too distant future.
The track remains as flat as a road and Durham's bowlers have so far sent down 153 overs.

BBC Radio NewcastleThis time last year, in this fixture, we went into the final day with Durham still in their first innings.
This time around it's Hampshire and I am struggling to see anything other than a draw, which is what happened 12 months ago. The track is offering little to the bowlers. Only 17 wickets have fallen in three days.
Last May bad light and a bit of drizzle put us out of our misery mid-afternoon. There are one or two showers about today, but I am not sure they will do enough to bring about a premature end to proceedings this time around. It's chilly though. Only 9C at the moment.
Ben Brown is resuming his innings on 143. His highest score is 165* against Surrey last year.
I can see Hants actually gettng level, or even having a lead. But in an ideal world Durham will be batting at 4.50pm which will allow the players to shake hands and head for home.
