    York City manager Gary Mills has challenged his players to show why they should stay at the club. 

    He says he's made a new striker his priority ahead of tomorrow's game at home to Chester, but knows other areas might also need strengthening.

    Gary Mills returned to Bootham Crescent for a second spell on Sunday, and he's been telling us he's already doing things his own way.

    One hundred days after Theresa May became Prime Minister after David Cameron stepped down following the vote to leave the EU, tourism and hospitality businesses in North Yorkshire say the Brexit decision has left many of them "in limbo".

    The industry in our region employs almost 250,000 people, with many businesses relying on workers from Europe.

    Sir Gary Verity, head of tourism organisation Welcome to Yorkshire, has told BBC Radio York: "Many hospitality businesses rely on seasonal labour from Europe and they want some clarity as to what the rules will be".

    Graham Usher, who runs a hotel in York, and his Hungarian head housekeeper, Isht-Van Nemesh, both say they're worried about the future following the Brexit vote:

  3. Five masked men sought over 'targeted' attack in Northallertonpublished at 08:02 British Summer Time 21 October 2016

    Five masked men who forced their way into a house in Northallerton and seriously assaulted a 26-year-old man are being sought by police, external.

    The incident, which police describe as "isolated and targeted", happened on Tuesday evening on Vicars Croft. 

    After forcing their way into the house, the men threatened some of the occupants and then assaulted the man who is now recovering in hospital, according to police.

    The men are then believed to have made off towards Bullamoor Road.

    Police are appealing for anyone with information about this incident to get in touch as soon as possible.

    The roads in North Yorkshire are generally running smoothly so far this morning, but there are a few potential delays to make you aware of:

    • There's gas mains work and a set of temporary traffic lights which might slow your journey on the A165 Burniston Road near Cleavland Avenue in Scarborough
    • There are temporary traffic lights on the A59 Roman Road at Marston Lane in Moor Monkton
    • Delays are expected due to temporary traffic lights and roundabout construction on the A169 at Edenhouse Road in Old Malton
    • There are roadworks on the A684 at the Bedale Bypass Roundabout and temporary traffic lights to allow a safety barrier to be installed
    • There are temporary traffic lights and roadworks on the A64 at Scarborough on Seamer Road near Hinderwell road
